Adeptol

Adeptol (Adeptol LLC) is a provider of viewing software. The company was founded in 2008 and is based in Santa Clara, California. Adeptol products run on Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X and require no additional software or plug-ins to be installed on the client or server side.

History

Adeptol was founded by Prateek Kathpal, currently serving as CEO of Adeptol. Adeptol initially was started under the name of AJAX Document Viewer (a web-based document viewing software) and was renamed to Adeptol LLC shortly after. The company has its headquarters in Santa Clara, California, United States. Their customers include more than 1000 companies worldwide and range from small and mid-sized companies to large Fortune 500 companies. Some of the Adeptol customers include Ricoh , Central Desktop, Netdocuments, Coursehero etc.

Adeptol delivered its first product, AJAX Document Viewer, in 2009 and entered the server market in 2009 with Adeptol CloudConnect On Demand Service (hosted) and AJAX Document Viewer Server products (on premise). Later during the year the company introduced several products like Adeptol Enterprise Viewer, Sharepoint Document Viewer, Integrations with EMC Documentum, Built in Translation Add on,AutoCAD Viewer etc.

Adeptol technology since its launch has been recognized across the industries. In 2010, Adeptol received Top 100 Always On and Red Herring Top 100 awards. Adeptol was also named as AlwaysOn Global 250 Private Company for Year 2010 and ranked 13th on Lead411's 2010 Technology 500 list.

Core product design and technology

Adeptol provides industry's leading document viewing technology and allows more than 300 document formats to be viewed on any device or machine without the need to install any desktop software, plug-ins or controls. Adeptol provides full control over documents and allows to maintain the integrity and confidentiality of the documents while still allowing others to view them. The viewing platform is built on AJAX and Flash technology and addresses needs for flexibility, speed, resiliency and efficiency by transforming the documents into a universal viewing format that can be viewed from virtually any application or process. Adeptol technology is available as On Demand and On Premise.

  • On Demand CloudConnect enables users to view documents directly from the servers. There is no need to buy and set up any server software, just connect in the cloud. Users maintain the documents on the servers and there is no upload process involved. Service providers can get On Demand CloudConnect technology on a usage basis.
  • On Premises means installing and setting software on the in-house servers. Providers will need to maintain the servers, pay for license fees of OS, server and maintenance costs and upgrade costs. The advantage is full control over documents and faster access.

Adeptol is the innovator of a revolutionary document viewing technology called Elastic Viewing . Elastic Content Viewing means downloading from server progressively as user views the content and buffering and streaming the content at the same time.
