Adarsh Vidya Kendra

Adarsh Vidya Kendra is a school in India.

History

Adarsh Vidya Kendra was established in 1984 at Vetturnimadam, Nagercoil. The school was started with staff consisting of a headmaster and seven teachers( How many of them are still with the school needs to be added) and with 112 students on the roll. Increase in pupil numbers resulted in expansion of the school and additional classrooms were built in 1992.

The building

The structure consists of the Technical Building, Laboratory Annex, and Auditorium. In the summer of 2007 new windows were added to the entire building. At the end of the 2007/08 school year the high school received new iMacs in every computer lab. In addition, projectors and touch sensitive white boards have been added to most classrooms.

School day

The school day consists of 8 periods ranging from 30 to 35 minutes. Junior high students have a closed lunch period between 3rd and 4th hours while grades 9-12 enjoy an open lunch after 4th hour. The school toilets have been reported to be good and managed. newly,asip programmes have been started.school timings are from 8:30 a.m to 3:30 p.m.

"The inspection team agree with the school that Adarsh Vidya Kendra is an effective school which provides good value for money. Almost all parents think the school is now doing well. Teaching is mostly good and sometimes outstanding."

The school badge comprises two Lamps. Underneath on a banner is the school motto 'Diligence Succeeds'.
