AdamsMorioka

AdamsMorioka is a graphic design firm with offices in Beverly Hills, California and New York City, founded by Sean Adams and Noreen Morioka in 1994. Their work ranges from corporate identities, identity systems, print campaigns and environmental graphics, to motion and digital projects, animation and websites.

Since AdamsMorioka’s founding, the firm has been globally recognized by major competition and publication including; Communication Arts (magazine), AIGA, Graphis, The Type Directors Club, The British Art Director’s Club, ID, and the New York Art Directors Club. In 2000, The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art exhibited AdamsMorioka in a solo retrospective. Adams and Morioka hold the honor of being named to the ID40, citing them as two of the 40 most important people shaping design internationally. Sean and Noreen are both Fellows of the Aspen Design Conference. In 2006, Sean and Noreen were named as Fellows of the AIGA Los Angeles Chapter.

Sean Adams is the current national president of AIGA, the nation’s largest design organization, a past national board member of AIGA, and past president of AIGA Los Angeles. He has taught at California Institute of the Arts and currently teaches at Art Center College of Design. He is the author of Masters of Design: Logo & Identity and Masters of Design: Corporate Brochures. Noreen Morioka is a past president of the Los Angeles Chapter of AIGA, chair of the AIGA National President’s Council and is a current board member of the Art Directors Club. Both Sean and Noreen are frequent lecturers, and, in 2009, were the keynote speakers at Design Indaba, Africa's only design conference.

In 2008, AdamsMorioka opened an office in New York City, managed by Creative Director David R. Kohler. He is the recipient of multiple awards from such organizations as AIGA, Grammy, Black Book, MTV, Type Directors Club, Theatre of New York (TONY), New York Art Directors Club, New York Independent Film Festivals, and most recently, he won an ADDY.

AdamsMorioka’s clients include ABC, Adobe Systems, Gap, Old Navy, Frank Gehry Associates, Nickelodeon (TV network), University of Southern California, Sundance Institute, and The Walt Disney Company.
