Adam Riggs (executive)
Adam Riggs is the president and CFO of the world's largest online subscription-based microstock photography site, Shutterstock, based in Manhattan.
Adam has been involved in every phase of Shutterstock's growth, from start-up to its current position as one of the world's leading providers of high quality and affordable royalty-free imagery. Shutterstock's library has grown from 30,000 royalty-free stock images in 2003 to over 6.9 million as of May 18, 2009. The company has customers in nearly every country worldwide.
Adam was a professional derivatives trader for nine years prior to joining Shutterstock. Focusing on index arbitrage, he actively traded futures contracts, ETFs, and stocks as a member of both the American Stock Exchange and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
Prior to his trading career, Adam did econometric research on securities fraud and antitrust at the NERA division of Marsh & McLennan, the insurance giant.
Adam graduated from Reed College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology.
