Adam Bostick

Adam Scott Bostick (born March 17, 1983, in Jeannette, Pennsylvania) is an American left-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball. He currently plays for the AAA affiliate of The New York Mets, the New Orleans Zephyrs.

High School

Bostick graduated from Greensburg-Salem High School of Greensburg, Pennsylvania. He hailed from New Salem Acres Rental Community.

Professional career

Florida Marlins

Bostick was drafted out of high school by the Florida Marlins in the sixth round of the 2001 draft. His contract was worth $150,000. In 2002 he had season ending surgery to transpose a nerve in his elbow. After returning in 2004, Bostick was used exclusively as a starting pitcher in the Marlins Minor League system.

New York Mets

On November 20, 2006 the New York Mets acquired Bostick and left-handed pitcher Jason Vargas from the Florida Marlins in exchange for right handed pitchers Henry Owens and Matt Lindstrom.

Bostick was optioned to the New York Mets AAA affiliate, the New Orleans Zephyrs on 8 March, 2007. He was called up breifly, to the Mets for a possible start. This promising young pitcher is still awaiting is chance at at the big time.
