Acutouch
Acutouch (a BLEND of "acupuncture" and "touch") is a traditional Chinese medicine technique derived from acupuncture.
Whereas acupuncture uses needles inserted in the body, acutouch uses a different technique to touch the acupuncture points and meridians, reaching a similar result as acupuncture. It is a healing method by different kinds of touch. “Acu” here mean "meridians and collaterals", “touch” means "stimulate".
Acutouch is different from another new concept: acupressure. Acutouch uses more techniques to heal. In the "Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon", there are nine kinds of needles. The needle most commonly used is 7th which is seen in any acupuncture clinic now. Acutouch applies most of these needles which work on the surface of skin, but which are not inserted inside the body. Beside that, acutouch uses techniques like massage, moxa, herb, herbal wine, laser, hot stone, toothpick, cupping, finger, hand, foot, heel, elbow or any kinds of techniques which can stimulate meridians. On the other hand, acupressure only uses the finger, hand or other parts of the body to stimulate meridians.
