Overview
The Ackerman Institute for the Family is one of the premier institutions for family therapy in the United States.
The Institute was founded in 1960, in New York City, by Nathan Ackerman, M.D., who became its first president and from whom the Institute derives its name. The Institute has trained therapists both in the United States and internationally.
