Acid blues

Acid blues or psychedelic blues is a sub-genre of Blues music that has been recently coined in the last few years. It combines styles such as rock, soul, funk and jazz. Although believed to have been coined in Seattle, Washington, it lives through the music of many past artists from as far back as the 60's, mainly blues rock and acid jazz artists such as Jimi Hendrix, and also Blues artists who incorporate funk and soul elements such as Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan and BB King.1

History

Acid blues is a mixture of the music backgrounds of rock, soul, jazz, funk, and blues rock. Pioneers of acid blues include: the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cream, and Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble.
