A1A Travel
A1A Travel is an independent bus company based in Birkenhead on the Wirral Peninsula in Merseyside, England. For the development of the company's quality objectives, a quality management system registered to ISO 9000 status was installed. A1A Travel employs approximately 35 people.
History
A1A travel was founded by Barbra and John Ashworth in the early 1980s and started with only one minicoach, the company moved to their current depot in Birkenhead in 1998.
The business has slowly grown over the last few years, focusing on being a bus company. The current fleet stands at around 20 vehicles of which the majority are used for public service.
The latest new buses to the A1A fleet were 2 Optare Solos with Digital Destination displays,
A1A is a family concern headed up by John and two of his daughters Jenny and Katheryn. John commented that they have chosen Solo because of there reliability and all-round performance compared to other vehicles on the market. We have dealt with Rick at Mistral now for a number of years and he always goes out of his way to assist us before, during and after the sale.
This was great news for A1A and hope that more new buses are to follow in the neer future.
The fleet of the company has varied throughout the years and has included a variety of different types of buses including, Dennis Dart SLF 10.7m with Plaxton Pointer and Alexander bodies, Daimler Fleetline, Mercedes Benz 814, Optare Solo, Optare MetroRiders, A Volvo B10M Coach, LDV Convoys, Iveco Daily, Pamela and the latest additions are two step enterence Dennis Darts
