A Step from Nowhere is the second album from Alternative Metal and Industrial band Shovel. The album was released March 23, 1999 on Universal Records. The album was the band's most successful, yielding 3 singles and music videos and charting in the US. To date, the album has sold over 400,000 copies. This was the band's final album with original bassist Davis Connelley.

Trivia
- The album's original title was 13 Steps to Nowhere, taking it's title from a Pantera song.
- The video for "Ruin by Numbers" was banned from MTV for featuring graphic depictions of violence.
