94.5 FM The Doja
Background
The Doja (94.5 FM) was an American pirate radio station which broadcast from the Athens, Ohio campus of Ohio University. The station was widely popular for its mix of rock, hip hop, and electronic music. The station referred to itself as "Underground Party Radio".
Little is known AbOUT the origins of the station. It was in operation from the fall of 2000 until it was forced underground by the FCC in mid-April 2001.
Many listeners blamed a local newspaper, The Athens News, for contributing to the eventual demise of the station. An article published in The Newspaper was thought to have alerted the FCC about the station's existence, resulting in the FCC shutting down the station.
