44th Australian Parliament

The '''Forty-fourth Australian Parliament''' is the current meeting of the legislative branch of the [[Australian]] federal government, composed of the [[Australian House of Representatives]] and the [[Australian Senate]]. It first sat on 12 November 2013 in [[Canberra]], following the [[Australian Federal Election, 2013|2013 General Election]]. The 2013 elections gave the [[Coalition (Australia)|Liberal/National Party Coalition]] control of the House of Representatives and consequently led to the appointment of [[Tony Abbott]] as the 28th [[Prime Minister of Australia]].
