25 January Salvation Front

The 25 January Salvation Front is an alliance in Egypt formed to recover the "goals of the revolution". The Al-Wasat Party called for an "inclusive national umbrella" when it left the Anti-Coup Alliance on 28 August 2014. The Homeland Party indicated on 17 September 2014 (when it withdrew from the Anti-Coup Alliance) the need to form a "more pluralist coalition". Abdel Moneim Aboul Fotouh, Mohamed Ali Bishr and Emad Abdel Ghaffour held meetings in the Mokattam district in early August to discuss the formation of the new coalition. The members of the Egyptian Current Party became part of the Strong Egypt Party once they merged into it. The alliance will likely compete in the 2014 Egyptian parliamentary election. Negotiations regarding the coalition are ongoing between the Homeland Party and the Al-Wasat Party.
