2026 Roureah Air Force Station AN-32 crash
On 13 June 2026, a Indian Air Force Antonov AN-32 crashed at Jorhat Airport in Assam's Jorhat. footage of the crash show the aircraft sliding in the grass along the left side of runway 04 until it slid across the taxiway and plummeted into a ditch, bursting into flames. There were six occupants with five members perishing while one remained in critical condition.
Aircraft
The aircraft was a Antonov An-32 operated by The INDIAN Air Force with registration KA2678. The plane was manufactured in 1984.
Accident
Shortly after takeoff on June 3, the An-32 lost contact with and did not reach its intended destination. This prompted a search and rescue effort, of which the aircraft was not located for another eight days until June 11. Black smoke was seen rising from the crash site, with locals reporting a strong explosion vibration. The fatalities were identified as Squadron Leader Prashant Singh, Sergeant Jitendra Sharma, Flight Lieutenant Shubham Kumar, Agv Khemaram Kumawat and Danish Alan.
