It was the 19th season of the TAC Cup competition. The season consisted of 17 home and away rounds with each team playing 16 home and away matches and four rounds of finals, culminating in the 2010 TAC Cup Grand Final which determined the 2010 TAC Cup premiers. Calder Cannons won the Grand Final for the sixth time in its history and second premiership in a row, defeating Gippsland Power by 58 points.

Finals

The 2010 TAC Cup finals were held at Visy Park, Carlton North with one elimination final held at Highgate Recreation Reserve, Craigieburn. For the third year in a row, the grand final was held as a curtain-raiser to the VFL grand final at Etihad Stadium on the Sunday before the AFL Grand Final. The finals series consisted of a final 12 so that each team could field its best players in front of AFL scouts. During the season, some players were unable to compete in the competition due to school football commitments. Greater Western Sydney declined to take part in the 2010 finals series. The Bendigo Pioneers took their place as the 12th team.
