1st Sarangani Infantry Battalion (Ready Reserve)

The 1st Sarangani Infantry Battalion (Ready Reserve), known officially as 1st Sarangani Ready Reserve Battalion, is one of the battalions of the Philippine Army Reserve Command, which is organic to the 22nd Infantry Division (Ready Reserve). It is an infantry unit, and specializes in Low-land Operations, disaster relief, and Civil Military Operations and provides operational response units covering the provinces of Sarangani and General Santos.

Mission

  • Base for expansion of the Regular Force in the event of war, invasion or rebellion within its AOP.
  • Assist the Government in Relief and Rescue Operations in the event of Calamities or Disasters.
  • Assist the Government in Socio-economic development and environmental concerns.
  • Assist in the operation and maintenance of essential government and private utilies (e.g. power, telecommunications, water).

The Executive Officer

Lt Colonel Emmanuel "Manny" Pacquiao (Res) PA was designated as the unit's executive officer effective 21 December 2011.
