1502nd Quezon City Ready Reserve Brigade

The 1502nd QC Ready Reserve Brigade, 15th Infantry Division (Ready Reserve), ARESCOM, known officially as the QC Ready Reserve Brigade, is one of the brigades of the Philippine Army Reserve Command which is organic to the 15th Infantry Division (Ready Reserve). It is an infantry unit, and specializes in MOUT, disaster relief, and Civil Military Operations.

History

The 1502nd QC Ready Reserve Brigade was originally the “1st QUEZMAR Ready Reserve Battalion” activated on 10 July 1991 at the Grandstand, City Hall Complex, Quezon City to confront the need for a Ready Reserve Battalion as stated in the primer and implementing guidelines of RA 7077 or the AFP Reservist Act. The original battalion was a composite battalion of army reservists gathered from its area of operation (AOP) which covers Quezon City and Marikina City. The Battalion was eventually reconstituted on 20 July 2005 and renamed as the 1502nd QC Ready Reserve Brigade under the 15th Infantry (Ready Reserve) Division of the Army Reserve Command pursuant to General Order Number 233 of Headquarters Army Reserve Command dated 20 July 2006. The Marikina City components of the former 1st QUEZMAR Ready Reserve Battalion were later transferred under the operational control (OPCON) of the 1505th MAMAPASAN Ready Reserve Brigade. The task was for the brigade to confront the need for sustained civil-military operations in support of the 15th Infantry (Ready Reserve) Division and the AFP NCR Command.

Mission

• Base for expansion of the Regular Force in the event of war, invasion or rebellion within its AOP.
• Assist the Government in Relief and Rescue Operations in the event of Calamities or Disasters.
• Assist the Government in Socio-economic development and environmental concerns.
• Assist in the operation & maintenance of essential government and private utilies (e.g. power, telecommunications, water).
