JS Moore (born January 14, 1974) is an American author/poet of over 150 stories, including the work of nonfiction Understanding Apples.

Early Life to Present

JS was born and raised in Kingsport, Tennessee. The younger of two boys, JS was known for his fast talking friendliness, which earned him the nickname "Auctioneer" by his grandfather.

As a child JS took interest in stories, both reading and telling them. At age thirteen he was in a storytelling group that traveled around the Tri-Cities Region sharing stories with anyone who might listen.

His poetry was first published while he was still in middle school. He continued to write stories and poetry in high school and his acrosstic poem "Timeless Fun" was written for the 1992 Summer Olympics, first released alongside Kim Bailey Ward's artwork for the summer games.

He is a United States Army Veteran, having served as a military police officer during the first Gulf War. While in the service he published several articles for military newspapers. One of his more popular poems "The Veteran" was released in limited prints with artwork by Terri Jeanne Miller during the early 1990s.

His first book titled Understanding Apples is a collection of short stories mainly about an area in the city of Kingsport, Tennessee called Long Island (The Long Island of the Holston River), a rough and tumble area after Prohibition known for violence and bootlegging.

JS Moore's next work of nonfiction titled Gathering Leaves will be released in the Spring of 2008. It is a continuation of the various stories from Understanding Apples.

The Barack Obama Muslim rumor is a false rumor which claims that United States Senator Barack Obama was raised a Muslim or is currently a Muslim as an adult. It has been circulating, primarily via the Internet especially through e-mail messages, since 2004.

In January 2007, , a neoconservative online magazine and sister publication to the Moon Unification Church's Washington Times, reported an allegation that the opposition research war room of 2008 American Democratic Party presidential candidate Senator Hillary Clinton had told them rival candidate Barack Obama's Indonesian elementary school (State Elementary School Menteng 01) was a "Muslim seminary" and that Obama himself was "raised as a Muslim" by his stepfather, Lolo Soetoro. This rumor was picked up by Fox News, but denied by both Clinton and Obama. CNN sent a reporter to visit the school Obama had attended as a child and reported that it was (at the time of the CNN visit) a public school for people of all faiths.

The debunked allegations were repeated six months later by radio commentator Michael Savage, who said on his nationally-syndicated show that Obama was "indoctrinated" by a "Muslim madrassa in Indonesia."

E-mail messages and flyers
In November 2007, The New York Times reported that voters in Iowa were receiving e-mail messages saying that Obama was a Muslim and anti-American. His campaign organization responded with a letter signed by three Iowa ministers, a nun and a church elder, which said, "Senator Obama is a committed Christian who found Christ long before entering politics and has been outspoken about his faith ever since." In the same month, the New York Post reported that flyers repeating the rumor were being put on cars in South Carolina and that other rumors were being spread about other candidates, both Republican and Democratic. That month, the Washington Post also reported that the rumor was still found on the Internet.

"Where You Belong" was the very first slogan used by the Philippine television network GMA Network from 1979 to 2002. The slogan was coined by TV executive Freddie Garcia, who was GMA Network's general manager from 1978 to 1986 before he returned to work for GMA's rival network, ABS-CBN.

Lyrics
Note: There were two versions of the "Where You Belong" theme of the network. One released in 1992 and another in 1998 when the network officially changed its corporate name to GMA Network, Inc.

Trivia
*In the 1996 film Neber-2-Geder, Andrew E. and Redford White made pun of GMA Network and rival ABS-CBN's slogans. In a scene where their housekeeper does not want to work to them anymore, he utters "Same place, same channel? Goodbye!". Andrew E. answered "But this is where you belong...". Redford White then said "The Philippines' largest network..." (ABS-CBN's slogan).
