The Other Nite Show was a comedic radio production created specifically for Brisbane Community station Switch 1197am (Formally i1197am). Running from July 2004 till April 2005.
The show
The show was a roughly prepared 3 hour Friday night variety segment targeted at 10 - 17 year olds. Presented by comedic trio Scott McDonald, Andrew Smith and Tom Hackett regular segments included calls from a British impersonator taking the alias of Calvin Klein, Beat the boys (quiz segment), Doctors in love (a spin off love advice segment), Smitty Speaks (hourly celeb goss) and regular banter about the boys differing interests - especially attacking Tom's sport obsession.
The Downfall
The show's decline began in early 2005, with reported splits with management. The boys began running segments attacking the supposed low intellect of the station (such as quoting Oscar Wilde inappropriately), and, as rumors spread of a staff dispute between the boys and the Sunday afternoon presenter the boys ended each show with a "community service" warning against listening to the station during his presentation.
In April the station management made a decision to remove the boys, with reported inappropriate promotions airing unapproved and a complete reckless attitude during their show.
Trivia
*Scott moved onto become a panel operator and then announcer for Brisbane commercial station, b105 and now does network nights on North QLD's Sea FM stations.
*The team were always strangely obsessed with elevators/lifts
*The Firm - Startrekkin' has appeared in every shift the boys have done on air
*The team, despite no singing ability, would sing a live jingle for every segment on the show
*The three openly admitted to being confused by every production related to the 4400
