"In the House - In a Heartbeat" is an instrumental track by British composer John Murphy. It is most famous for its association with the 2002 horror film 28 Days Later, and as such is often mistakenly referred to as one of the other songs on the film's soundtrack, "East Hastings" by Canadian band .
The published version of the track runs for four minutes and sixteen seconds.
28 Days Later franchise
The track was featured in the 2002 British post-apocalyptic science fiction horror film 28 Days Later, for which composer John Murphy provided much of the original soundtrack. The track was featured over the climactic confrontation towards the end of the film. The name of the track seems to stem from this scene, set in a country house, in which the character Selena is tested to make good on her promise to kill Jim "in a heartbeat" if he ever became infected, as she had earlier promised she would.
The track is available on 28 Days Later: The Soundtrack Album.
It was also featured in the film's sequel: 28 Weeks Later (2007), in which it is used more extensively, including usage in a pre-opening titles confrontation sequence. In all, three different arrangements of the track are featured in the sequel and included on its soundtrack. (28 Theme, Don Abandons Alice and Leaving England)

Violent trauma in film and other visual media has been increasingly tolerated and increasingly life-like and graphic throughout the history of film-making. The effects of watching violent trauma in visual media remain controversial. Some studies show that watching increased amounts of violence on television and film can lead to violent behavior later in life. Other studies show that watching violent trauma can act as a trauma trigger, causing flashbacks and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in trauma survivors. Listed below are films containing violent trauma content of various types. Please add to the lists alphabetically.
