Festivalinfo
Festivalinfo.se, was launched prior to the festival season in 2002 by Marcus Österberg, Mikael Josefsson and Anders Pil Lövkvist and to give festival fans a chance to plan, book and follow what was happening on the festival arena.
The site is the leading independent Festival and Concert Portal in Europe with about 100,000 unique visitors per month and monitor about 600 festivals, concerts and music events yearly across Europe. It is maintained by a large number of crew, most of whom are (or have previously been) involved with the festival industry or are true music lovers.
History
The concept for Festivalinfo was conceived by Marcus Österberg, Festivalinfo's founder, in 2002. Festivalinfo was developed to:
* Provide festival and concert visitors an overview of music festivals and music events in northern Europe.
* Help festival and concert organisers to reach out with its information in the rough media landscape despite low media and PR budgets through a free of charge festival organiser account system.
* Develop services to simplify the functions that the organisers did not have resources to develop themselves such as RSS feeds, job database for volunteer festival workers, etc
In October 2007 Festivalinfo.se was translated to English and launched as Festivalinfo.net to become Europe's leading festival and concert portal.
In April 2007 Marcus Österberg and Andreas Swahn, CEO of Studentis Group's initiated merger talks and in July 2007 Festivalinfo was merged into Studentis Group.
