The National Liberation Movement of Ahwaz (NLMA) is a British based organisation working for the independence of Ahwaz
The organisation was proclaimed in Nicosia, Cyprus in 1983, and is currently working in exile from Britain with the Secretary General of the Movement kheza'al Al Hashemmi. The Main Goal of the Movement is the Liberation of the Ahwazi region of Khuzestan, from the Iranian rule, and calling for a referendum by the local population to decided whether they become independent or not.
Flag
Unlike the rest of the Movements and Fronts, the NLMA has adopted a new Flag for themselves.
Deputy Secretary-general of the NLMA, MR. Taher Al-Seyed Na'ma defended the move to adopt a different flag by saying:
"It is customary to be any political, social organization, a regional, or international institution whatever form or content it has .. Must (not mandatory) and have its own flag that distinguished them from others. Therefore, the movement's leadership decided that the announcement of the NLMA banner, which the flag statement that was issued The National Liberation Movement of Ahwaz in August 6, 2007."
Policies
The NLMA encourages sanctions on Iran by the UN under the 1737 resolution on Iran. It has an Anti-Syria and Hezbollah Policy due to their Support and cooperation with Iran.
