Starling Electric is an Ann Arbor based band that has been championed by Robert Pollard of Guided By Voices, Jon Auer and Ken Stringfellow of the Posies and The Great Lakes Myth Society. They have released three records, toured with Robert Pollard, and their song "Camp-Fire" appeared in the tenth episode of the first season of Veronica Mars. Their third record as a full band Clouded Staircase was released in 2006.
Starling Electric began as a solo recording project by songwriter/singer/keyboard player Caleb
Dillon. A Northern Michigan-based guitarist/engineer/producer, Jason DeCamillis, helped master and eventually produce Starling Electric recordings while Dillon and himself were still in high school. By the time the second Starling Electric album was assembled, DeCamillis had become an active producer. An early incarnation of the group - including drummer John Fossum - was based in East Lansing; after a handful of live shows, two members left the band and were replaced by Grand Rapids native Christian Blackmore Anderson. DeCamillis left Traverse City to study recording at Full Sail College in Orlando, Florida, and worked for some time at the Chicago Recording Company. He then moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan, with the rest of Starling Electric eventually following suit. This current line-up has been recording and performing live since late 2003. DeCamillis also produced demo recordings for The Satin Peaches, a Southern Michigan-based quartet.

After qualification he taught in both suburban & inner city schools in the Midlands and in 1974 moved to Lincoln as a career promotion to be Director of Music at Yarborough High School.
Midway through this decade a very special move of the Holy Spirit birthed a ministry in Worship that continues to this time. There are still many dreams yet to see fulfilled.
His great joy is to see his 5 grown up children, loving and serving Jesus. Married to Lesley since 1970, together they look to see another generation, their granddaughter, Lydia Kate, become a passionate follower of Jesus.
