The Chesterfield and District Model Engineering Society (CDMES) is a British model engineering organization located in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England. Formed in the 1930s, the society operates a multi-gauge miniature railway facility on its private grounds at Hady Hill, where members construct, maintain, and run scale live steam, diesel-outline, electric locomotives, and traction engines.

In addition to its home site in Chesterfield, CDMES members also manage and operate the miniature railway at Papplewick Pumping Station in Nottinghamshire during public steaming events.

Alfred Jowers (1838–1926) was a British architect primarily active during the late 19th century, best known for his work in the Gothic Revival and Queen Anne styles. He was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1864. Jowers established a reputable practice in London, notably at 7 Gray's Inn Square, specializing in ecclesiastical architecture and suburban residential villas. His most prominent surviving work is St Matthew's Church, Ealing Common (1883–1884), a Grade II listed building celebrated for its intricate red brick diaper-patterning and rose window. Beyond his architectural practice, Jowers was an active member of the London and Middlesex Archaeological Society and contributed to the professionalization of Victorian architecture through his involvement in architectural committees and design competitions.

Hajaz Akram (born 14 January 1970) is an English actor. He is currently principal and founder of the Hampstead Academy of Acting & Drama, Akram has trained and worked as an actor, teacher and director for 20 years. He was previously the founder of the Academy Of Asian And Ethic Dramatic Arts, the aim of which was to offer actor training to Asian actors. In 2015 Akram co-founded the charity Shout At Cancer.
