The EBOT Streetcar, or the Emeryville-Berkeley-Oakland Transit Streetcar, is a proposed light rail transit system which could help improve public transportation in the East Bay by providing an efficient and affordable light-rail connection to existing Amtrak and BART stations. The streetcar will operate at least in part on the existing Emery Go-Round bus shuttle route, so the shuttle and other local bus routes will likely be adjusted to better complement the new streetcar service and avoid service redundancies. According to a 2014 study commissioned by the City of Emeryville, the EBOT Streetcar system would cost approximately $129 - $148 million to construct, and could be open for use as early as 2024 or by 2034 at the latest.
