Ultraperformance (translation of ultrarendimento) is an advanced concept of performance that goes beyond mere financial profit to include a series of positive, non-monetary but measurable effects generated by investment in the real economy. It normally goes hand-in-hand with a conception of a company in which people are central and all stakeholders - shareholders, employees, clients, suppliers and the local community - are involved. It promotes seeing monetary returns in the light of sustainable economic, social and environmental principles, where company success is viewed in a medium/long-term perspective.

Easter Island Statues are an English alternative rock band from Oxford, UK.

Background

The band was formed in 2015 in Oxford, UK, by singer/guitarist Donald Campbell and bassist James Askwith, who bonded over a shared love of Neutral Milk Hotel and the Pixies. After finding drummer Tom Hitch in 2016, the band began recording their debut 6-track EP, 'Why don't you live in the garden?', which is due to be released on 15 December 2017.

Musical Style

Songs by The Easter Island Statues are mostly about feelings, the ocean and feelings about the ocean, but also occasionally deal with other concerns such as funeral pyres. There are also recurring themes present on many songs, including drowning in the Pacific Ocean, apparent in songs such as '30 Feet' and 'International Flight'. Some keen-eyed maritime historians have construed this fascination as being an homage to the risks involved in the ancient Rapa Nui ritual of tangata manu, however these claims have been roundly dismissed by the band. An interest in returning to outer space also appears to have influenced some songs, most notably 'I Want To Return To Outer Space'.

In October 2017, 'Bow & Arrow', taken from the debut EP 'Why Don't You Live In The Garden?' was voted one of Tom Robinson's "Fresh Faves" on his 'Fresh on the Net' blog, being described as "a fine slice of whip smart indie-rock, the sort that fans of Franz Ferdinand would clamber to get their hands on."

Influences include Beat Happening, The Beatles, The Lucksmiths, Neutral Milk Hotel, and Nirvana. The band's sound has been described by the press as "...a nice end to the night".

The Easter Island Statues have never been to Easter Island.
