In the fictional universe of Warhammer 40,000, the Slaan were a reptillian or amphibian species who were servants of the Old Ones. The Slaan are reputed to have created some of the major races in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, the most notable of which are the Orks (who refer to them as the brain boys) and Eldar (who are the only race that keeps records from the age) who were created with their psychic abilities to take part in the war between the Necrontyr and the Slaan 60 million years ago in which they were all but wiped out by the C'tan and the Enslavers (Warhammer 40,000) plague. The Mon Keigh (Human) race was a race that basic evolution was allowed to mould without the guidance of the Old Ones.
The computer game Doom consists of 36 levels in four nine-level episodes: Knee-Deep in the Dead, The Shores of Hell, Inferno and Thy Flesh Consumed (Thy Flesh Consumed was added in the upgrade Ultimate Doom). Levels 1-7 in each episode are regular levels, while number 8 is a boss battle; the ninth is a secret level that can be accessed from within the first seven. The levels are referred to as ExMx (episode x, mission x), but also have individual titles.

The Stalkers are a type of combatants mentioned in Philip Reeve's Mortal Engines and Predator's Gold. They are also known as the Resurrected Men.The Stalkers were built by the Nomadic Empires that battle each other across the volcano maze of what was once Europe long before the Traction Era.They are seven feet tall and have glowing green eyes. They are also armed with sharp claws. They built these Stalkers by dragging dead bodies from the battlefields and bringing them back to a sort of life by wiring strange 'Old Tech' machines into their nervous systems. Once a dead person is resurrected as a Stalker, they will have no feelings and emotions and the will not have any memory of who they were before they died. The Nomadic empires were long forgotten but their deadly Stalkers were not. In Mortal Engines, one of the minor characters is a Stalker named Shrike and the London Guild of Engineers build new Stalkers from dead prison convicts at their experimental prison in the Deep Gut. In Predator's Gold, a London Engineer who survived the explosion is captured by the Green Storm who makes him build new Stalkers. These Stalkers are diferrent from the original because they come in many different forms such as a spider like machine armed with a machine gun in its belly and a whale Stalker that is designed to shoot missiles against Raft Cities.
