Open Source Pictures is an entertainment production company specializing in film and video, operating in Amsterdam, Netherlands. State of Delaware records list the company's formation as a Delaware corporation on 19 June 2007. The company's web site was launched on July 7, 2007 .

The site, , is a wiki allowing the site's users to write a screenplays, teleplays, and other scripts through community collaboration. The company will also give a percentage of profits it receives from the sale or production of any script to those who created the work.

History

Open Source Pictures, along with its website, is a brainchild of former television news assignment editor Zachary M. Newmark as part of his studies at the Amsterdam Business School. In April 2007, during the MBA program, Newmark found himself in classes related to information systems, executive strategy, and entrepreneurship. Independent of each other, professors Hans Borgman, Hans Strikwerda, and Tsvi Vinig all referred to advancements in open source acceptability, and how this has greatly affected several business sectors.

Drawing on his entertainment industry background, Newmark toyed with different ideas to open up the film industry to the everyday person. While discussing this with Asian Academy of Film and Television head Sandeep Marwah, Newmark said that the process of developing and producing movies no longer needs to be consolidated in Hollywood and Mumbai.

That is the real purpose behind Open Source Pictures: to make the entertainment industry more accessible to the real people sitting outside the fence. You know what you want to see on screen. Nobody knows that more than you. By sharing and collaborating with everyone else, we will make the movies we have always wanted to see.

As a journalist, Newmark developed many breaking news and investigative stories originating in the Chicago area. After seven years with television station WMAQ-TV, an Emmy award for breaking news, and several other award wins and nominations, Newmark left Chicago for Amsterdam. He will receive his MBA in October 2007.

Vok Liqueurs

Vok Liqueurs are an extensive range of alcoholic liqueurs distributed by Australian company, Vok Beverages.

Today the Vok Liqueurs range consists of 15 flavours, which can be enjoyed on their own, as a base for mixed drinks, or to create an infinite variety of flavoursome cocktails.

History of Vok Liqueurs

More than three centuries ago, Dutch hosts mastered the art of blending herbs, spices and fruits and flowers to create the first Liqueurs. They invented such traditional drinks as Advokaat, fruit brandies, Van der Hum and Curacao.

Half a century ago Dutch liqueur maker, Jan Vok, introduced his liqueurs to Australia, under the brand of Jan Vok Liqueurs. He carried on making the liqueurs in the Dutch way, working to a strict formula with nothing but the very best ingredients.

Incidentally, Advokaat is still to this day one of the most popular of the Vok Liqueurs. A rick, creamy, yellow drink, this liqueur got its name from the Dutch word for an advocate or lawyer and was so-called because it was the favourite tipple of these gentlemen several centuries ago in Holland. They found that a mixture of beaten eggs with a spirit was as nourishing as it was refreshing - an ideal restorative when coping with a busy day in court.

Inevitably, this drink soon became popular outiside of the legal circles and today Advokaat is recognised as one of Holland's greatest contributions to the list of the world's great drinks.

A variation of Advokaat is Vok's Cherry Advokaat which combines its smooth taste with the flavour of cherries.

Creme de Menthe is also a popular line in the Vok range. It has a clean crisp taste based on the careful blending of mint essences which is consumed on its own or as a mixer to make refreshing long drinks. Traditionally Creme de Menthe is consumed after-dinner as the mint cleans the palate and is a good aid to digestion.

The name Jan Vok is now linked with some of the finest fruit based liqueurs available. The extensive range includes Melon, Strawberry, Banana and the orange flavoured Triple Sec and Curacao. Most of these fruit liqueurs are made from natural fruit flavours blended with top-grade Australian Spirits and the fruit liqueurs are particularly popular for creating a vast range of fruit cocktails.

Music
A signature of Seinfeld is its theme music: distinct solo sampled bass guitar riffs which open the show and connect the scenes.

These short riffs were composed by Jonathan Wolff and are considered groundbreaking in their use as sitcom music. They vary throughout each episode and are played in an improvised funk style with slap bass. An additional musical theme with an ensemble, led by a synthesized mid-range brass instrument, ends each episode.

In the first episode of Season Three, the bumper music also featured a scatting female jazz vocalist. However, this was featured for only that one show. In the final two seasons, the bits were tweaked slightly to give them more frenetic rhythms and the occasional hint of guitar.

Rumors have speculated that Les Claypool originally was going to actually do the recordings for the opening theme, or that he actually had recorded it, but these have proven false.

Non-original music featured in the show:

*"Vesti la giubba" from Pagliacci - Ruggiero Leoncavallo - In "The Opera".
*"Theme from The Godfather"- Nino Rota - In "The Bris".
*Selected music from "The Barber of Seville" - Gioacchino Rossini - In "The Barber".
*"Wouldn't It Be Nice" - The Beach Boys - In "The Hamptons". (This song was performed by a sound-alike band because it was cheaper than buying the rights to the original Beach Boys track.)
*"Superman (Main Theme)" - John Williams - In "The Race" and "The Clip Show, Part 1".
*Sonata No. 8 Op. 13 "Pathetique" - Ludwig van Beethoven - In "The Pez Dispenser".
*"Everybody's Talkin'" - Harry Nilsson - In "The Mom & Pop Store".
*"Hello" - Lionel Richie - In "The Engagement", "The Invitations", and "The Voice".
*"Downtown" - Petula Clark - In "The Bottle Deposit, Part 1". George looks for clues about his work assignment when Wilhelm mentions the song to him.
*"" - Sheena Easton - In "The Bizarro Jerry" and "The Butter Shave".
*"Shining Star" - Earth, Wind and Fire - In "The Little Kicks". Elaine does the infamous dry heave dance to this. Also, in "The Bookstore". Peterman begins dancing with a female coworker to this song at the Annual Peterman Party.
*"Adagio for Strings" - Samuel Barber - In "The Fatigues". Frank Costanza has a flashback to his days as a cook in the Korean War.
*"Desperado" and "Witchy Woman" - Eagles - In "The Checks".
