Alexander Schott (February 27, 1878 - July 15, 1919) was the first enlisted service member of the United States Marine Corps to be issued a military service number upon the creation of service numbers as the primary means of Marine Corps identification in 1920.
Marine Corps service
Born 1878 in New York City, Schott worked as a farmer before joining the Marine Corps at the age of twenty two. Schott enlisted on June 26, 1900 and was assigned as a Marine Corps signalman with the rank of private. His first assignment was as a member of the Marine Barracks at the New York Navy Yard. He was briefly detailed to recruiting duty before deploying to the Philippine Islands for service during the Philippine-American War. He would later serve at the Marine Barracks in Annapolis, Maryland.
Schott would later serve continuously for over nineteen years eventually reaching the rank of Sergeant. In the summer of 1919, Schott was killed when he was electrocuted while repairing a telegraph pole at the Marine Barracks in Norfolk, Virginia.
First enlisted service number
When service numbers were first adopted by the Marine Corps in 1920, Schott was retroactively assigned the first formal service number which was #20,001 (1 through 20,000 were never issued). However, due to a clerical error, Schott was retroactively assigned a second service number several months later, this one #97,835
Awards and decorations
Schott was a veteran of the First World War and his known military decorations include the World War I Victory Medal and the Philippine Campaign Medal. He was considered for the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, but was never awarded the decoration due to several disciplinary infractions during his service.

Zoop Framework stands for Zoop Object Oriented PHP Framework.
Zoop is a free software, object oriented web application framework for PHP based on the Model View Controller Methodology. It is considered one of the more full featured frameworks available for php.
History
Zoop was originally created in 2001 and shortly after dubbed the pehppy framework. Three independent groups used and developed separate code bases of this pehppy framework. In 2004 Steve Francia decided to try to merge the three code bases back into one code base, taking the best features from each. Francia also took over as project manager of this project. So many changes were made that the development team agreed that perhaps a new name would be a wise choice and so the once pehppy framework was renamed the Zoop Framework for PHP.
Releases
Zoop did not carry over the version numbers from pehppy, since there were three different versions anyway.
;Version 1.0: Released August 3rd, 2005.
;Version 1.1: Released December 13th, 2005.
;Version 1.2: Released June 30th, 2006.
;Version 1.3: Released January 1st, 2007.
;Version 1.5: Released October 1st, 2008.

Power50 is an annual newspaper supplement, co-produced by Birmingham Post and Birmingham Future, which aims to highlight the top 50 most influential people in and around Birmingham (UK).
Background
In 2006, the Birmingham Post and Birmingham Future, with the support of Urban Communications, have set out to identify leaders in Birmingham who have influence and are, or might, exercise their influence in the city in future years. It is not a list of the rich and powerful, but a reflective study of where Birmingham can find tomorrow’s leaders. The candidates are separated into categories according to the sector they mainly operate within, which includes Academia, Art and Culture, Business, Media, Public Sector, Sport and Third Sector.
Selection Criteria
The candidates are assessed on their performance in each of the following areas:
*Achievement & Legacy
:What has the contender actually achieved to date? What are their tangible attainments in terms of power and influence? How many lives have they already affected? What is their current sphere of influence?
:This is designed to distinguish from contenders whose performance may be spectacular, but only on a short term basis - or limited to one narrow sector - against those whose contribution will leave a lasting legacy for the wider community.
*Influence
:How influential is the contender, not only in his/her own discipline but also across other sectors. The influence of the contender should also be judged against different groups. For instance, does the influence extend across the whole age profile of the city and region or is it solely confined to one age group? How engaged are they or their activities in different ethnic communities?
*Charisma
:Does the contender have the power to inspire others? Is he/she regarded as inspirational and as a role model? Do they have other personal qualities such as excellent communication or collaborative skills that characterise real leadership ability?
*Potential
:What is the contender's ability to grow and improve? Does he/she show great promise as a future leader/entrepreneur? Is the person a pioneer of a movement / technology / industry that may have an enormous impact on our lives in the future?
In addition to the above, the judges will be asked to consider contenders' ambassadorial qualities. Is he/she a person Birmingham and the West Midlands can be proud of?

Critics
Some critics have criticised the list for being too male dominated.
