Ibrahim Abdullah (1963) is an American citizen of Palestinian descent. By self definition, he is a former PLO terrorist. He converted from Islam to Christianity in 1990 after a year of comparative studies on both religions.
Personal background
According to his biography in Shoebat.com, Abdullah was born in 1963 into a Palestinian Muslim family in Dearborn, Michigan. He had a radical Muslim and antisemitic upbringing which he claims, was in reality mainstream. He was brought up in the belief that "all the problems faced by the Palestinian people were caused by the Jews".
In 1981, he emigrated to Israel at the age of 18 and joined the Fatah, the main radical group associated with the PLO. He claims to have committed many hate crimes against Jewish civilians during this period. For instance, in one incident he recalls having thrown stones with other Fatah members at a car driven
by an Israeli man, thereby causing it to crash into a pole. He also relates another incident in which he and his group threw molotov cocktails at a passenger bus that had a mix of both Muslims and Jews on board with complete disregard for the lives of the passengers onboard. The resulting casualties were only prevented when they failed to cause the bus to crash, as the bombs bounced off the roof of the bus.
When the Israeli army secured Ramallah, Abdullah was arrested along with several other members of his group. While in confinement at the military prison outside Ramallah, he claims to have been recruited by extreme Islamist radicals for a terrorist mission and also being given training on bomb making, gliding,
surveillance and infiltrating Lebanon. Upon his conditional release, he was immediately deported to the United States and hence, was not able to carry out his mission.
In 1989, Abdullah studying the Quran for the purpose of becoming a more devout Muslim but gradually became disillusioned with Islam due to the perceived inconsistenices in the Hadith versus the Quran. He later began studying the Bible, eventually converting to Christianity in 1990 after coming to the conclusion that "the bible is the only true book". His conversion was soon followed by that of his wife in 1994.
He claims that he no longer bears any hatred or animosity towards the Jewish people and to have remorse for his past actions.

Open source optics refers to optics / opto-electronics / fiber optic designs that is designed in the same fashion as free and open source software (FOSS). Open source optics is part of the open source culture that takes the open source ideas to fields other than software.
The term has primarily been used to reflect the free release of information about the optical design, such as construction or integration of the active and passive optical components in order to make a complete optical system. The designs sometimes include hardware and software which would typically be a open source hardware and open source software resspectively.
Licenses
Rather than creating a new license, some open optics projects simply use existing, open source software licenses.
Open projects
* RONJA - Open source Free Space Optic system, DIY in a garage, 10 Mbit/s full duplex/1.4 km
* LED Throwies - Non-destructive graffiti and light displays.
Other open source optics projects
* Open source fiber optics communication testbench - It is an open source optics project aimed at developing a complete testbench to understand the principles of fiber optic communication. The design includes almost all passive and active optical components, analog front-end amplifiers, digitally controlled lasers etc., that are required to perform Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) link experiments including Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifer (EDFA) and Optical Add Drop Multiplexer (OADM)

Monotwin are notable for having American slam poet Mighty Mike McGee as their vocalist. Mike has won numerous titles including "World Poetry Slam Championships". Mike McGee is the first slam poet to win both the American National Poetry Slam Individual Grand Championship, in 2003, and the Individual World Poetry Slam Championship, in 2006. Mike has performed around the world to crowds of up to 15,000 people. He often performs to Monotwin backing tracks whilst reciting poetry.
In 1996, Santa Clara valley natives Mike McGee and Bryce Dumont started making music together. Collaborations with various other musicians ensued, but after the demise of their last band together, Mike and Bryce decided that what was special about all the projects they'd worked on was the working relationship between the two of them. So, they became a production duo and a band under the banner of Monotwin.
A flurry of recordings were made, a few acoustic gigs happened, but Bryce was quickly swept away into the world of professional sound recording, design, and stage management while Mike was equally swept off into the world of International Poetry Slams. When their busy scheduals allowed, the duo continued to collaborate.
In 2003, Bryce moved to England with his family and Mike embarked on a non-stop North American tour. Still, the two continued to work together via snail mail and the wonders of broadband internet.
In 2007, Bryce met Lee Seager. The two quickly started writing and producing together and also created The Shed, a small recording studio in South Devon. When Mike started writing words to some of Bryce and Lee's recordings, it became clear that Monotwin was expanding.
Monotwin now have numerous tracks and are working on their first album. For anyone that knows Mikes poetry, it is powerful, yet emotional and blends perfectly with the music produced by Bryce and Lee.
The band were recently noticed by BlogTalkRadio and had the track "Lullaby" aired on "The Oracle Lounge". The band were interviewed for over half an hour and the producer of the show requested the band write a track for him as he enjoyed "Lullaby" so much.
