Richard S. David is a New York community activist, public servant, and politician. He is running for New York City Council District 28. The district includes portions of Jamaica, John F. Kennedy International Airport, Ozone Park, Richmond Hill, South Ozone Park and Rochdale Village in Queens.
Early Life and Education
David attended Hunter College, where he was the predident of the WISE Club. He obtained a master's degree from New York University.
Career
Richard David began his career at the New York City Economic Development Corporation. He became a Vice President after eight years.
David then became an Executive Director of the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs.
He currently serves as a Chief of Staff of the New York City Administration for Children's Services.
He is also a member of Queens Community Board 9 and the cofounder of the Indo-Caribbean Alliance.
Richard David announced his intent to run as a Democratic candidate in the race for Council District 28 on February 14, 2017. His platform focuses on issues like housing and taxes, employment assistance, police-community relations, education, immigration, and elderly care.
