In network routing, controlled delay or CoDel (pronounced "coddle") is an active queue management developed by Van Jacobson and Kathleen Nichols. It is intended at combating bufferbloat in network links (such as routers) by setting limits on the delay network packets suffer due to passing through the buffer being managed by CoDel.
CoDel aims at improving on the overall performance of the RED algorithm by addressing some fundamental misconceptions in the algorithm (as perceived by Jacobson) and by being easier to manage (since, unlike RED, CoDel does not require manual configuration).
Good queue versus bad queue
CoDel distinguishes between two "types" of queue (or rather, the effect that the queue is having):
* In comparison to RED, CoDel keeps the packet delay closer to the target value across the full range of bandwidths (from 3 to 100 Mbps). This seems to result in good queue, since the measured link utilizations are consistently near 100% of link bandwidth.
* At lower MTU, packet delays are lower than at higher MTU. Higher MTU results in good link utilization, lower MTU results in good link utilizations at lower bandwith, degrading to fair utilization at high bandwidth.

Andy Laode Abdul Hasan a.k.a Laode Abdul Hasan (born 1 July 1978 in Jakarta, Indonesia) is professional photographer and also full time system designer and Engineer that lives in Jakarta, Indonesia. Andy is also known informally as “Andy Bray” in one of the largest Facebook online community named “Komunitas Fotografi Indonesia” also known as “KFI”. Andy was born at 1 July 1978 in Jakarta, Indonesia, elder son of Maemuna, his mother, a high school teacher, and Laode Muhammad Nasim, his father, a sailor. His father was a Butonese and his mother was Butonese and Chinese descent. Andy’s mother was working in Jakarta as a school teacher when she met his father. Andy’s father at first was working as a bank clerk before turn out to be a sailor, his father first job as a sailor was working as an oiler which job is supervising ships’ oil level. Andy has one younger brother, Laode Abdul Razak. His brother work as a reporter for newspaper.
Andy grew up in North Jakarta because near to the Tanjung Priok harbour, his father working area.
