Venture Cup Danmark is a non-profit organisation whose object is to discover and empower students and researchers with the purpose of facilitating the realization of their business ideas. This is made possible through the idea and start-up competitions, where students have the opportunity to develop and upgrade their idea and turn it into a viable and successful business. The purpose of Venture Cup is two-fold: to inspire and motivate entrepreneurship among students, and to turn academic knowledge into viable high-growth businesses. A total of 575.000 DKK is awarded yearly to upcoming entrepreneurs.
Venture Cup has been discovering new entrepreneurs since 2000 and it is associated with the three other Venture Cups in Sweden, Norway and Finland. The Danish Venture Cup is supported by seven Danish universities (Copenhagen Business School, Technical University of Denmark, University of Copenhagen, University of Southern Denmark, University of Aarhus, Aalborg University and Roskilde University ). It is funded by as well as private sponsors and the main sponsor is Young Enterprise Danmark.
It has local offices in Copenhagen, Aarhus, Odense, Aalborg and Roskilde. The national office is based at Howitzvej 60, 2000 Frederiksberg.
Idea Competition
The Venture Cup Idea Competition runs during the fall and awards 25,000 DKK to the best idea of five categories:
#Cleantech & Environment: energy efficiency, waste management, pollution reduction etc.
#Life Science & MedTech: biotech, pharma, medical devices, healthcare, biomaterials etc.
#Mobile & Web: apps, web services, search engines, augmented reality, Near Field Communication etc.
#People & Society: education, consultancy, marketing, services, tourism, social entrepreneurship etc.
#Product & Technology: industrial design, devices, robotics, hardware, nanotech etc.
Students can participate by entering a 2-3 page executive summary about the business idea and the deadline for submissions is usually around late November, and the finals are in January.
Apart from the money prize, participants get feedback on their ideas from business people, entrepreneurs and investors; obtain practical entrepreneurial skills by attending the training workshops that are held in different universities and gain a valuable network of experienced individuals who can help them succeed.
Startup Competition
The Venture Cup Startup Competition runs during the spring and awards 50,000 DKK to the best business idea of each of these five categories:
#Cleantech & Environment: energy efficiency, waste management, pollution reduction etc.

#Mobile & Web: apps, web services, search engines, augmented reality, Near Field Communication etc.
#People & Society: education, consultancy, marketing, services, tourism, social entrepreneurship etc.
#Product & Technology: industrial design, devices, robotics, hardware, nanotech etc.
The five winning teams competes for an additional prize of 200,000 to take home a total prize of 250,000 DKK
People can participate to this year's competition by entering a business plan of 10-20 pages.

History
The concept of business plan competitions originates from the U.S. where it was developed in the early 1980s. In the 1990s competitions were organized around the world by McKinsey & Company in cooperation with local universities and business schools.
In 1998, McKinsey & Company established Venture Cup in Sweden, and in 2000 as an Øresund-based competition with Denmark and Southern Sweden. Today, Venture Cup is present in three Nordic countries, and a total of more than 2000 submitted plans each year makes it the most important initiative creating high-growth start-up companies in Scandinavia.
In 2003 Denmark got its first nation-wide Venture Cup, organised by McKinsey & Company, Copenhagen Business School, and the Technical University of Denmark. Today, the organising group of universities has expanded to include the seven above mentioned universities.

REB Technologies (also referred to as REBTECH) is a manufacturer and distributor of night vision lighting equipment and technology for national and international civilian and military aircraft. They provide research and development, installation, and support for night vision lighting equipment installed on aircraft such as the Bell Helicopter, Eurocopter, MD Helicopter, Robinson and Sikorsky. They currently hold seventeen approved Supplemental Type Certificates from the Federal Aviation Administration to be allowed to make modifications on aircraft such as the Rockwell B-1 Lancer, Lockheed C-130 Hercules, Cessna A-37 Dragonfly, F-16, Lockheed C-5 Galaxy (cockpit & cargo), Bell UH-1 Iroquois, Mil Mi-8, Bell AH-1 Cobra, and the Bell OH-58 Kiowa. They have performed work for more than eight foreign governments in addition to the United States federal government and numerous state governments and are considered one of the leading providers of night vision devices.
History
REBTECH was founded in 1996 by current CEO Dick Borkowski. Borkowski founded the company in order to produce night vision lighting equipment that did not use green filters. In 2012, REB Technologies announced a strategic partnership with Aerospace Vendor Solutions, Inc. to mutually develop and market night vision technology for both civil and military applications.
Products and services
In addition to installation, support, and repair of any equipment designed or installed by REBTECH, they also offer training and other products approved by the FAA. REBTECH develops and supplies shadow screens which reduce infrared light emitted by instruments without altering the color quality. Shadow filters allow colors to remain consistent on instrumentation and moving maps so that red and amber caution lights can be seen in their true colors in both daylight conditions and while wearing goggles. REBTECH provides training programs for pilots to train them on the use of night flying conditions while using their equipment.
REBTECH installs custom emergency lighting systems for planes and helicopters such as Casa C-212 military cargo planes. They also modify navigation and communication control heads with shadow screens to allow the use of night vision while complying the FAA requirements for instrument lighting. REBTECH also installs external NVG lighting which has recently become an FAA and Transport Canada requirement for aircraft.
* In 2009, REBTECH was chosen to convert thirty two medical evacuation helicopters for a national medical evacuation company. This was after they completed an additional seventeen installations for the company previously. These helicopters were to be used for search and rescue as well as medical transports throughout the United States.
* In April 2012, REBTECH completed the modification of two R44 helicopters for the Estonian Air Force with NVIS systems. Estonia currently has four helicopters in their Air Force that are primarily used for surveillance as well as search and rescue.

Awards and recognitions
In 2011, CEO Dick Borkowski was awarded with the first annual Night Vision Achievement Award by the producers of NightCon 2011.
