Definition and terminology
A collegiate entrepreneur is an active college student who seeks to capitalize on new and profitable endeavors or business; usually with considerable initiative and risk. The term is occasionally used to refer to an entrepreneur that is of college age (under the age of 25) but is not actively attending a school, as in someone that forgoes college to launch a business.
Etymology
The word "entrepreneur" is a loanword from French. In French the verb "entreprendre" means "to undertake", with "entre" coming from the Latin word meaning "between". In French a person who performs a verb, has the ending of the verb changed to "eur", comparable to the "er" ending in English. Therefore, an entrepreneur is an undertaker, a person who undertakes a task.
Enterprise is similar to and has roots in, the French word "entreprise", which is the past particple of "entreprendre".
Entrepreneuse is simply the French feminine word for "entrepreneur".
According to Miller, it is one who is able to begin, sustain, and when necessary, effectively and efficiently dissolve a business entity. These are most common in the Bahamas.
Entrepreneur as a Leader
Scholar R. B. Reich considers leadership, management ability, and team-building as essential qualities of an entrepreneur. This concept has its origins in the work of Richard Cantillon in his Essai sur la Nature du Commerce en Général (1755) and Jean-Baptiste Say (1803) in his Treatise on Political Economy.
A more generally held theory is that entrepreneurs emerge from the population on demand, from the combination of opportunities and people well-positioned to take advantage of them. The entrepreneur may perceive that they are among the few to recognize or be able to solve a problem. In this view, one studies on one side the distribution of information available to would-be entrepreneurs (see Austrian School economics) and on the other, how environmental factors (access to capital, competition, etc.) change the rate of a society's production of entrepreneurs.
A prominent theorist of the Austrian School in this regard is Joseph Schumpeter who sees the entrepreneur as innovator.
The Collegiate Entrepreneur Phenomenon
According to Young Money Magazine arecent phenomenon in the United States is the growing number of college students who are launching their own company while still in college. Thirty years ago only a handful of colleges offered entrepreneurial programs; today the number of has grown exponentially. A few trends have added to the momentum of these collegiate startups. With the notable collapse of Enron, Arthur Anderson and other major firms - the prior perception of job security has crumbled and college students are finding that working for their own company guarantees, if nothing else, job security.
Also adding to the trend are super collegiate successes such as Mark Zukerberg. While a junior at Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts, Zuckerberg developed a web based community of fellow students. His site, Facebook, enabled them to share pictures, jokes, and discuss anything their hearts desired. Today Facebook has become one of the most clicked on websites on the internet, and has had acquisition offers in the billions. Another super success was Michael Dell, founder of Dell Computer, who started out of his dorm room. These super successes, while not common place, have added to the allure of starting young.
Risk Tolerance & Youth Advantage
Besides the allure of riches, and the guarantee of job security, collegiate entrepreneurs also typically benefit from high
risk tolerance and thin personal financial needs. Traditional older entrepreneurs have the burden of family and housing costs, that the collegiate entrepreneur often does not have. Many students live off their parents dime or educational funding while at school and afterward, great discounting their immediate financial needs. Younger entrepreneurs in general have higher risk tolerance, due to the inherent saftey net of youth - time and energy.
Startup Methodologies
Traditional Methods
For any business to continue long term as an entity it needs two critical components, customers and positive cash flow. Customers are a source of ongoing revenue and positive cash flow provides the money necessary to support the ongoing entity. During a startup phase, some companies are able to sustain on just one or the other, customers or cash, or at least a disproportionate balance of the two.
Some startups are able to exist without cash being infused or derived from customers for a short term. Often when founders or other participants in the company are willing/able to work for free, the company can build a customer base that ultimately will yield revenue. Alternatively, some business start exclusively with an influx of cash, and the business then seeks growing its customer base. Most frequently business start with a disproportionate mix.
Many traditional methods of introducing cash and clients to a new business are outlined below:

The United States of Earth is the fictional world government in the TV series Futurama.
This government name which is a fan creation, and not used in the series, is a parody of the United States' sphere of influence, with numerous similarities. It is run by a presidential system (headed by the President of Earth), its capital is Washington, D.C. (which is rededicated in 2475 to "Sweathog" Freddie "Boom Boom" Washington from Welcome Back, Kotter), and its citizens are called Earthicans. It is a member of Democratic Order Of Planets' or D.O.O.P., an interplanetary organization similar to the U.N.. The government is described by Omicronians as ' Weak and fearful'. Although never seen on screen, there are references that the United States of Earth still uses a constitution-based system of government, with a widely expanded bill of rights. Its flag looks like the flag of the United States, with a globe centered on the Western Hemisphere in place of the 50 stars. Politically, the Earth Government is similar to that of the United States with a two-party system with a number of third parties. The two main parties are the Tastycrats and the Fingerlicans. Anyone who votes for third parties are regarded as 'weirdos and mutants'. The various sub-states are headed by governors, prime ministers and other similar leaders.
The head of Richard Nixon is elected President of Earth by exploiting the fact that Earthican law states that no body can be elected more than twice; Nixon managed to run by putting his disembodied head on various robotic bodies ("A Head in the Polls"). Usually, though, his head is shown without any body. President McNeal is killed by invading Omicronians in an earlier episode. However, it remains to be seen whether Nixon will still be President of Earth as he was taken into hell by the Robot Devil in "The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings."
The Earth is a very free place and highly values liberty. According to Nixon, it is so free that people can even decide in which hand to have their sex monitoring chip installed. Earth's taxes are voluntary, though those who opt out of paying have to spend a weekend with the Pain Monster. Earth's national holiday is "Freedom Day," where the usual freedoms are expanded to the point of basic anarchy. The flag is often referred to affectionately as "Old Freebie" ("A Taste of Freedom").

Noob-Smoke refers to an alliance formed of two characters from the Mortal Kombat fighting game series; Noob Saibot and Smoke.
About Noob-Smoke
Noob Saibot and Smoke debuted as a tag team in Mortal Kombat: Deception. Their goal as a partnership (though Noob Saibot's personal storyline depicts Smoke as having no real opinion in their decisions together, due to his reprogramming) is to harvest Smoke's nanotechnology which he inherited through automation, manifest inhabitants of the Netherealm with it and subsequently form an army of cyborg-demons, which their motives to ruling such a force is so far unknown.
The tag-team of Noob-Smoke appears as the of Deception.
Every other playable character in Deception has two fighting styles and one weapon. However, instead of switching fighting styles, Noob-Smoke switches characters, and doesn't have a weapon-fighting style.
History
Prior to their union, Noob Saibot and Smoke had no known previous affiliations with each other, except for the fact that they were both Lin Kuei warriors in their lifetimes. Noob Saibot was the original Sub-Zero (and the older brother of Sub-Zero), whereas Smoke was the close friend of Sub-Zero. Following his death, the original Sub-Zero would eventually become the demonic wraith known as Noob Saibot, while Smoke would be captured by his own ninja clan and was automated into a cyborg, programmed to seek and terminate his close friend (who had fled the Lin Kuei).
Both warriors were present during the events of Mortal Kombat 3 (and its variations), in which Noob Saibot (under the orders of his new master, Shinnok) was to spy on the events of Mortal Kombat, and feign an allegance to Shao Kahn - for the time being. It is not certain if this is canon, but it is believed that Smoke had gained Sub-Zero's assistance in regaining his memories and learned that he still had a soul. His soul was able to override his programming and thus became an ally of Sub-Zero's once more. Whether Smoke was able to fight alongside Raiden's forces or not is unclear; what is known is that Smoke was eventually captured by Kahn's minons and locked away in the prisons of Kahn's fortress, apparently a war trophy for the emperor. Smoke was shut down, and remained inactive for many years.
During the aftermath of Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance and the beginnings of Mortal Kombat: Deception, the leaderless Noob Saibot found Smoke's inactive body in a prison cell. Realizing that Smoke would be the perfect template for Noob's ambition to create an army of Cyber Demons and to rule the Netherealm, Noob Saibot reprogrammed Smoke and reactivated him, thus allowing his body to reshape (due to his nanotechnological upgrades). He programmed Smoke to obey him and only him without question. The two then headed for Outworld, where Noob Saibot began his journey to ultimate power.
Noob and Smoke were then split off into separate individual fighters for Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. In the game's Konquest mode, however, they are seen working together to infiltrate the Lin Kuei temple, which involved a fight with the Tengu that is only alluded to in the actual gameplay. As Sub-Zero and Taven come to an understanding, Smoke invades and converts Lin Kuei warriors into his cyborg demons, prompting Sub-Zero and Taven to fight them off. Taven defeats Smoke, who departs to inform Noob Saibot of his failure. Taven then encounters and defeats Noob Saibot (who has apparently defeated Sub-Zero during the absence). Taven leaves the unconscious Noob with Sub-Zero as he continues on his quest.
Possible future
It is as of yet unknown as to whether Sub-Zero was successful in cleansing his brother's soul or not. However, it is possible that Sub-Zero was successful as the original Sub-Zero eventually confronts Noob Saibot for control of his body in Noob's ending. It is also unknown if Noob Saibot has given up his plans for world domination or if they have been merely postponed.
As the characters are separated in Armageddon, they each have a separate ending. In Smoke's ending, he transforms into a living cloud-like being that calls itself "Smoke". In Noob Saibot's ending, he is transported to an arena where his entity does battle with the original Sub-Zero over control of Noob's soul. What emerges from the confrontation is only known to be something new.

Combie (ΚÏŒμβη) is a mythical figure from ancient Greece. She was one of the Asopides, daughter of Asopus and Metope, wife of Sokos or Sochos and mother of one hundred children (the Couretes) or the seven Corybantes from Euboea (Prymneus, Mimas, Acmon, Damneus, Ocythous, Idaeus and Melisseus). At the time of Cecrops I reign, Combie and her seven sons left Euboea because of Sokos' madness and went to Cnossus in Crete. Then, they went to Phrygia in Asia Minor and returned to Athens where Cecrops killed Sokos.
Diodorus Siculus writes that Combie was also called Chalkis and that she gave her name to the city Chalkis in Euboea. Stephanus Byzantius adds that she was one of the Asopides. Therefore, the city was founded by Combie the Chalkis. Later, some of the people of this city, called Couretes, went west and founded another homonymous city in Aetolia, near the sea.(Homer B 640).
According to Hesychius, the ancient inhabitants of Polyrrenia (a city in Crete) called the bird crow comba.
The Sons
Melisseus was a king of Crete at the time of Zeus' birth. His daughters Amaltheia and Melissa (= honey-bee) were the nurses of the baby. Apollodorus writes that his daughters were the nymphs Adrasteia and Ide; they raised Zeus with the milk of the goat Amaltheia. Nonnus tells that Melisseus was one of the Couretes who protected Zeus from his father Cronus.
Idaeus seems to be the ancestor of the Idaeoi Dactyloi (dactyloi = fingures). According to Pausanias they were five of them (as our fingures): Heracles, Paeonaeos, Epimedes, Iasios and Idas. These men were protecting the baby in a Cretan cave and they were the first to discover all the metals, including the iron.
Mimas gave his name to a mountain in Erythrae in Asia Minor. It is obvious that this hero was the "giant" who was killed in the Gigantomachia (the war of the Giants) by Zeus or Hephaestus.
Acmon was a powerful magician and the founder of the Phrygian city Acmonia in Asia Minor.
Related Stories
Idaea married Zeus, the king of Crete (not the god).
Idaea was a Cretan nymph who came to northwestern Phrygia in Asia Minor (in the land where Troy was built later) and married king Scamandrus, son of Corybas from Crete. The river that flows there was named Scamandros and the mountain that it springs from Ide, after the homonymous Cretan one. Their son Teucros was the father of Bateia (Myrina), wife of Dardanos and mother of Ilos and Ericthonios.
Ericthonios was the father of Tros who found Troy.
According to Diodorus Siculus, at his time there were some people living in an island called Panchaia near India, who spoke an ancient Cretan dialect. The priests insisted that their ancestors had been brought there from Crete by Zeus when he was a king and ruler of the world. Nonnus tells that a long time before Dionysos, the son of Semele, his father Zeus had defeated the Indians and had conquered the world with his weapons. Arrianos informs us that according to the Indians, Dionysos lived 6042 years before their king Sandracottos (300 B.C.), therefore around 6300 B.C.
