The LA Podcasters is an inclusive podcasting group based out of Los Angeles which meets monthly at the Brewery to synthesize the generation of podcasts out of the greater Los Angeles Community. Meetings are organized around sharing podcasting tips, encouraging the local independent podcasting scene and producing podcasting events.
History
In March 2005 Lance Anderson (Verge of the Fringe and The Lance Anderson Podcast Experiment), Dan Klass (The Bitterest Pill), Tim Coyne (The Hollywood podcast), Grant Baciocco (The Radio Adventures of Dr. Floyd) and others began to meet at the Farmer's Market in order to establish a Podcasting Organization in the Greater Los Angeles community to foster the growth and development of the podcasting community. Shortly thereafter the LA Podcaster hosted a number of events to raise awareness of the general public to the thriving local podcast community.
Events
-September 2005, Hosted a booth at the first Podcast and Media Expo with a sold out and podcasted “Live Show” featuring Dr. Floyd and Dan Klass.
-Spring 2006 participated in The Brewery Art Walk and the Mac Gathering
-September 2006 Hosted a number of live panels at the Podcast User and Media Expo.

Dan Klass is an American actor, comedian and podcaster. He is the co-author of Podcast Solutions: The Complete Guide to Audio & Video Podcasting. He hosts an audio podcast The Bitterest Pill about living as a stay-at-home father/actor/writer/podcast producer under the flightpath at the Los Angeles International Airport.

Klass has been featured on the cover of Podcast User Magazine where The Bitterest Pill is described as: ". . . essentially a cathartic comedy audio blog which provides an outlet for Dan's creative yearnings." Dan is described as ". . . an East Coast guy living on the West Coast, and a man in a traditionally female role". The success and notoriety of The Bitterest Pill contributed to the early emergence and popularity of podcasts. and the show went on to win the Winter 2007 'Best Audioblog' from The Podcast Peer Awards. A pilot for a video podcast version was produced but the series was never launched. The Bitterest Pill reached its 10th anniversary in November 2014, and Klass has published over 300 episodes to date.
Acting roles
As an actor, Dan has appeared on many popular television series: Party of Five, Chicago Hope, The Pretender, The X-Files and Touched by an Angel. He has also appeared in the films Love Liza (written by his childhood friend Gordy Hoffman) and in The Girl Next Door.

Technology overview
Methodology: Digital Element utilizes more than 20 different methods to determine the physical location of an IP address down to the city level worldwide. Digital Element utilizes Intelligent Trace Agents (ITAs), which function in much the same way as a search engine spider. ITAs constantly crawl the Internet, providing a comprehensive, global view by utilizing network tools, routing tables (BGP, ASN, etc.) and triangulation from various points on the Internet, to name just a few. The data information is constantly monitored and updated.
Patents: The company’s technology utilizes more than 20 different patented and patent-pending methods.

NetAcuity uncovers geographic information, connection speed, domain name, Internet Service Provider (ISP), language and other characteristics about online users based solely on their IP addresses. NetAcuity Edge is a hyperlocal data set for five-digit zip code and UK postal code targeting.

PolicyBazaar raised Rs 119 crore (20 million dollars) in the Series C round of funding in mid 2014, has a post money valuation of approximately 100 million dollars. In March 2015, the company raised Rs 300-crore financing from PremjiInvest and Steadview Capital. Present and future
The company has a headcount of around 1500 people. It has 5 million registered users. The users search through 2-3 pages per visit on an average. Since July, Policybazaar.com has rolled out many campaigns on TV with Comedy Star Kapil Sharma and has also tried the radio route. PolicyBazaar has appointed Lowe Lintas as its advertising agency. The company is expected to post profits in 2014-15.
