TEARS: Tales of War, is a 2d over-head shooter game for the pc that is currently in production by Crescent Red Games (A game making group/company founded by Holy_Or_Gore2 in 2007 ). TEARS take place in the near future of 2023 during the times of WW3 were many of the nations have taken their part in the war either allied or foe of the United States. You play as a new marine known as Damien Savahdes nicknamed Killer by his marine platoon Grey Spider the newest addition to the USA marine military units. The story is told in Killer’s point of view as he goes through many ordeals during the war in which he writes in his journal.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Engine: The engine is still currently in production but promises to make the game experience realistic and enjoyable both graphics/art wise and game play wise. The engine will have many effects that will make the game realistic such as real-time shadows, basic and moderate lighting (car lights and gun flashes), water to sky reflections (e.g. seeing the moon in the lake), particle effects (e.g. smoke), random systematic (to make for a more realistic environments and effects like smoke and gun flashes), earthquakes (explosions), 3d sound depths, and much more. The game is going to allow split-screen 2-player co-op and multiplayer were the 1st player uses the key board and the 2nd player uses a controller hooked up to the computer (to allow control freedom/prevent key command over flow “beep“). The game is not expected to have online multiplayer at all but this is not fully guaranteed.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Game Features: The game will allow the player to use turrets such as machine guns and moveable mortars. Also the player will be able to use vehicles such as hummers and Abrams tanks. The game offers the use of many modern and futuristic weapons that the player can use to their disposal. The player also is expected to be able to choose their weapons and tools before a multiplayer match and campaign mission so replay value should go up for the game with that. The game also uses the new to Crescent Reds Game feature called “Infinite Saves” which allows the player to save infinite (as much as your hard drive can save) saves allowing you to easily rename them without confusing the games save loader.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Campaign: The TEARS camp. Will be both long and challenging (according to Holy_Or_Gore2) with a story plot supporting what ever you may be doing to escaping a enemy base about to explode or to just walking around looking for enemies to try and kill you. The game is expected to make the player use their head and really learn how to use there environment and weapons effectively or risk dieing a lot. The game will also allow the use of upgrades or add-on’s to weapons such as grenade launchers and scopes.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Weapons: Many weapons will be in the game for the use of the players most of which are modern day weapons and a few futuristic made up weapons. Some of the weapons include: M16/M4 Carbine Ak-47 G36C Uzi Mp5 50caliber Barret Glock The weapons will all be designed to have diffrences between each other but still try to stay true to their real life counter parts, "One example would be the Uzi and the MP5 which one is better? They both use 9mm bullets (make the same damage) but the Uzi fires faster, has a smaller 30clip, is less accurate and has slightly shorter range. While the Mp5 shoots slower, has a 35clip, is more accurate, and slightly longer range than the uzi and can have a short range scope added to it." (Holy_Or_Gore2 states while in a chat room)
