Boyes is a product of the York City Academy system, part of the team that progressed to the 3rd round of the 2007-08 FA Youth Cup.

Following a hatrick for the reserve side, Adam made his first team debut as a substitute during York's 6-1 Conference National defeat at Crawley Town on 5 April 2008.

ExtraLives AB is a Swedish-based game design company best known for developing the online games Hattrick and Popomundo, games with a combined active user base of more than 1,2 million people (as per March 2008).

The company was established in the autumn of 2000 in Stockholm by Björn Holmér (known as HT-Bjorn on Hattrick), Johan Gustafson (HT-Johan) and Daniel Abrahamsson (HT-Daniel). When ExtraLives was established, Hattrick was in its 11th season and the main focus of the company was to manage the growing community. Extralives sold the game to Hattrick Limited in 2004, but is still contracted to do a large part of the development work for the game. Extralives also owns and develops the game Popomundo.
