AgBASE,Inc. is an American Internet company that manages AgBASE.com, an online food and beverage shopping website that functions much like a virtual farmer’s market.
History
The AgBASE concept evolved during the late 1990s arising out of CEO Glen Klock’s involvement with US Online in developing an electronic catalog to enable Boeing employees to find parts to build commercial airliners. From this project came the concept for a similar catalog, but with the food industry in mind. AgBASE, Inc. was formed with encouragement by Mat Sanders of Forrester Research (2003). Sanders predicted that the potential of an online agricultural market could be realized and that there would be a significant future movement of agricultural products through e-commerce.
Organized AgBASE with the assistance of Miriam Technologies and adapted its technology to connect agricultural businesses with consumers (B2C). Version 1.0 of the AgBASE B2C online food and beverage directory was launched in late 2005.
Product and Services
AgBASE is a virtual global farmers’ market specializing in unique products and seasonal specialties. It is an Internet alternative to direct local shopping for produce, wine, and other agricultural based-products, linking consumers directly to producers.
Competition
Several large domestic internet businesses including Ebay, and Amazon have limited food and beverage sections on their website, but the marketing of these products is not considered a core competency of these businesses. As such, LocalHarvest, a California based website focusing on organic food products, is the largest American competitor. The most relevant competitor on the international scene is Alibaba.
Financial overview
The growth of AgBASE has been financed by founder, friends and family, and bootstrapping. No venture investors are involved in AgBASE’s current growth.

Overview
The Detroit Monkey House, located on scenic Belle Isle, is home to a small community of Bonobo monkeys. The Bonobos live in the old arboretum and have complete run of the place. They are property of the Detroit Zoo and are cared for by grants from the Detroit Zoological Society.
History
The monkeys moved to their new home early in 2008 after Sunshine, the beloved Silverback gorilla died. Zoologists behind the move said it was necessary due to the emotional attachment the Bonobos had formed with Sunshine. After his loss the Bonobos simply could not handle being in the same environment and had to be moved.
Visitation
The Bonobos can be visited on weekend between the hours of 10am and 3pm. Admission is free with a suggested donation of $5. Cocktail receptions are held monthly, always on the second Friday.

In the San Diego Wine Tasting of 1975, held in San Diego, California, twenty-eight experienced wine tasters (all american) blind tasted eight Bordeaux wines and two California Cabernets from the 1970 vintage. It should be noted that the French Cabernet Sauvignons in the wine competition were France's best producers and were all from the 1970 vintage, identified by the Conseil Interprofessionel du Vin de Bordeaux as among the four best vintages in the past 45 years or more.
Heitz Wine Cellars Martha’s Vineyard from California ranked number one. Tying for second place were Château Latour and Château Mouton Rothschild.
One year later in 1976, French and American wines were again compared in the famous Judgment of Paris wine tasting.

RaShawn Lamar McAllister (b. March 25, 1983 in Queens, New York, New York, United States), was a college basketball player for Southern Oregon Raiders.
High school career
McAllister attended Arlington High School where he was not well known for his basketball talent. He played football as a means to keep busy during school, never really took the sport serious. He was not a member of the Boys Varsity team until his senior year. That year, the Arlington Lions were ranked as high as 17th in the state of california. and he was begining to learn the game of basketball. That year, Mcallister set (what was a school record in 2001)the record for most 3 point makes in a half, 7. He finnished the year as the 3rd leading scorer on the team. For only playing the sport for two years he was getting a lot of attention from smaller college schools.
College
*San Bernardino Valley Community College
** As a freshman, it was decided that he would sit out his first year in order to further develope into a decent basketball player. That year, McAllister grew to the height of 6'2 and weighed in at 190 pounds. Practicing with a team full of All-Star calibur players McAllister gained the trust of his coaches and teamates, it also gave him the confidence that he would need when it was his time to play. The next year, which was considered his Freshman year, McAllister played like a completly different player. He developed a consistant jump shot to go along with a left hand. Doned the nickname " Hawk Eye " because of his long range shooting and leaping ability, he lead the team in 3 point percentage, averaging 3 makes a game. By seasons end McAllister helped lead his team to the Conferance Championship and the State championships while averaging 10 points a game in a backup role.
**The 2003-2004 year was to be his best as a Wolverine. Earning a starting role, McAllister shot nearly 80 percent from the three point line in his first 9 games, his points per game were up to 16 and he was having more fun then ever. They were beating teams by an average of 15 points a game. So much talent, yet so many egos. That was the eventual downfall of this high calibur team. Following the season, McAllister had some decisions to make, recieving offers to play for different colleges all over the west coast.
* Southern Oregon University
** The team was very close, which was one thing he was not used to. There was a chemistry that was already intact, which ment immediate success, and it was in beautiful Oregon. His first year would be a learning experiance. Since he was the new transfer he was not utilized in a way he was expecting. He finished the season with career lows in every catagory.
** After practicing all summer, McAllister was determined to make it a better year. From the begining he played hard, mid season he became the starting shooting guard. In his final 13 games, he posted averages of 21 points and 6 rebounds.
