Jann Halexander(b.1982) is a French singer, born in Libreville (Gabon). His mixed-race origin is credited as being the inspiration behind much of his music.

Overview

On September 16, 2004, Halexander released an album entitled L'Ombre Mauve. This CD was made up of three creations with only piano and voice, whose style varies between the blues and the Nouvelle Chanson Française. Halexander's lyrics on this album deal greatly with pain, death and racism. Although only a small print run with no paid promotions, L'Ombre Mauve sold out through direct sale over the internet. His mother is a writer, Anne-Cécile Frébeau (Mathilde et son pianiste).

On November 3, 2004; he released a four song demo album called Brasillach 1945, with a print run of only eight copies. Once again, no promotion, and once again, all the CDs were sold (the last one was bought through an auction-website in February 2005). In this CD, the singer explores deeper into the themes from his previous album. One song notes Robert Brasillach, a French writer and nazi collaborator killed at the end of World War II, and describes his trip to the underworld.

On April 6, 2005; the singer's first full length album, "Halexander Songs", was published independently. Jann Halexander deals with the same themes as his previous works, explored in ten songs (with mainly piano and voice). At first he was pessimistic toward the outlook of his new album, but after receiving positive reviews in Ouest France and other newspapers and French or Belgian websites, "Halexander Songs" sold well.

In 2006, Halexander appeared in the French musical movie Statross Le Magnifique by Rémi Lange. His firt movie, experimental and musical, J'Aimerais J'Aimerais, based on his song with the same title, appears in France in July 20, 2007.

Magna 73 are a amateur Football Club based in Countesthorpe and currently play thier home matches at The Meadows Sports Ground in the Leicester and District Football League Premier League. Their president is Shirl Neal, their secretary is his wife Ros Neal and thier manager is David O'Boyle.

The club formed in 1973 and played in the now defunct Leicester Mutual League with Limited success until finishing 2nd in 1983/84 4pts behind eventual champions Highfield Rangers.

For 1984/85 Magna 73 moved to the Leicestershire City League Premier Division winning the Title in their first season and never finishing outside the Top 4 until 1990.

Magna 73 won the City League Championship for the 2nd time in 1993/94 and moved up to the Leicester District League where they currently play.

Immediate promotion to the Premier Division as Champions in their first season, Magna 73 finished 2nd behind Cosby United by 1pt in 1994/95 and where runners up again in 1997/98 but all to often Magna have been mid table and even dicing with relegation.

After 4 seasons of real struggle and poor form David O'Boyle took control of Team affairs with former player Mark Tuckwell as his assistant.

After some signings and an improvement in form Magna ran Lutterworth Town close in 2004/05 before a late dip in form saw them finish 4th although they could easily have been champions.

Magna 73 have ambitions to perform in the Leicestershire Senior League and have proposed plans for development of their Meadows Sports ground which they share with Oadby & Wigston Girls and Wigston CC. The first stage of the proposed development was completed in the summer of 2007; the pitch was turned 90C to enable a 2nd pitch to run vertically alongside it. New goalposts and nets where purchased. Future proposals include a brand new state of the art clubhouse and changing rooms.

Magna 73 FC have in the past been sponsored by a variety of companies but have always had close ties with Alliance and Leicester due to a number of their players working for the company.

Overview
Due to major advances in technology over the past century, the frontier of space has opened up to the human species. To take advantage of the resources that space has to offer, colonization is a possible solution. However, not everywhere in the universe has the same gravitational field as we do on Earth. For our species to persist in the future, reproduction must take place. This includes conception, pregnancy, and birth.

Pregnancy In Space

Pregnancy in zero gravity faces many unique challenges. Some of them academic, some moral.

(8)    In 2008, a physics student, Hamilton Lucas, at the University of Utah outlined many of these dillemmas.

(9)    In 2006, Transterrestial Musings created a panel comprised of Laura Woodmansee, Vanna Bonta, and Dr. James Logan. This panel addressed many of the questions surrounding conception and pregnancy in space.

(10)   In 2006, Laura Woodmansee published a book titled "Sex In Space". A well known journalist and author, Laura Woodmansee describes many of the obstacles of zero-gravity sex and pregnancy. In Chapter 3, "Making space babies: conception, pregnancy and birth", Ms. Woodmansee addresses issues that many have not thought of.

(11)   In 1995, Monica J. Casper and Lisa Jean Moore from UCSF published an article in Sociology Perspectives titled, "INSCRIBING BODIES, INSCRIBING THE FUTURE: Gender, Sex, and Reproduction in Outer Space" that (from abstract:) examines the ways in which gender, sex, and reproduction in the U.S. space program are represented as social, cultural, and scientific problems.
