Christopher Folan, Irish War of Independence victim, died 11 May 1921.
Christy Folan, age 18, was a native of Woodquay, Galway City. His brother James Folan was a Battalion Quarter-Master of the Galway Brigade of the Irish Republican Army (IRA), during the Irish War of Independence. James was released from Galway Jail on 10 May 1921, after a 6-month sentence for possessing seditious documents. He was warned not to return to his home in O'Donoghue's Terrace, Galway.
That night a party of Black and Tans called to the house looking for James. They were met by his brother, Patrick Folan, who told him James was not at home. They searched the house and the yard. They then fired into a downstairs room where his two brothers Christy and Joseph were sleeping. Christy died at the scene, his brother Joseph survived after being brought to Galway Hospital.
The Black and Tans then went to the house of Hubert Tully, St Brigids Terrace. He was a contact of Sean Broderick, a leading Galway Republican. On finding him they shot him dead.

Mr. Manoj Shashichandra Shroff (born 4 January 1964) is an Indian business magnate, founder and chairman of Niti Group, a private conglomerate well established in the IT, Furniture, Hospitality, Beverage and Pharmaceutical Industry. The conglomerate includes Niti Distribution, Cursor Technologies, Sky Supers Stores, Jupiter Pharmacy, La Maison Royale Hotel and Comfort Inn and Suites franchise. Currently, the Niti Group spans over three continents, and has an established existence in more than 11 countries.
Early life
Mr. Manoj Shroff was born to businessman, Shashichandra Hiralal Shroff and Kusumben Shashichandra Shroff. He has three sisters. The Shroff family lived in a modest town house in the district of Nandurbar, Maharashtra.
He attended DR High School in Nandurbar, Maharastra. He began his BCom degree from Narsee Munjee College and transferred to another collage to complete his degree. Later, he moved on to gain a postgraduate in computer applications.
Career
Shroff started his career and journey at an extremely young age. He worked two jobs as an accountant at DC Silk Mill and as a computer analyst at Exxon Computers while completing his college education. After being awarded his degree, Shroff went to Bur Duba<nowiki/>i, United Arab Emirates to work for Al Habtoor Motors. His dedication and hard work at Al Habtoor Motors allowed him to rise up the ranks at an extremely escalated pace.
Mr. Shroff knew that he wanted to start his own business. In 1997, he founded his own IT company (today known as Niti Distribution) with the vision to transform the way IT products were sold in East Africa. Entering into Africa, he started his company with the unique value proposition, where he wanted to make it easy for every individual to own a computer. He ensured that the company ran with lean operations such that its logistic costs and overall costs were lower than its competitors. He also ensured that the company provided excellent after sales service where questions on features, usability and software support were answered with the highest priority. His vision was and is to create satisfied customers. It is due to his passion, determination and hard work that today; Niti has an extremely wide customer base, reputation for excellent financial management, a reputation to be a one-stop shop for many customers and is one the highest purchasers of HP, Dell, Lenovo, Toshiba, Asus, Microsoft, Kaspersky among others.
After establishing great success in the IT industry, Shroff entered into the IT manufacturing industry where he owns his own brand Cursor. A brand that known for the best value Cameras, CCTVs, and Music Entertainment Systems. He also entered into the Pharmaceutical industry with the vision to increase accessibility and affordability of basic medicine in the East Africa. He also created his own 4 Star Boutique hotel, La Maison Royale Nairobi.

Jacob Ballington (born September 7, 1998) better known by his stage name Mark Carson, is an American Hip-Hop Artist/Audio Engineer from Columbia, South Carolina. He began making music at age 12, and started recording songs in his shower. Later, with the help of FatRat Da Czar, he built a full recording studio in his garage. Over the years, he taught himself how to audio engineer eventually mastering Pro Tools. Since then, he has recorded 3 mix tapes (The Carson Effect, The Freshman, Good Vibes) teaming up with other local rappers such as FatRat Da Czar, H3RO, J-Hype, Cole Conner and more.
Mark did local shows throughout his community working his way up through the ranks. In 2014 he opened for Slick Rick at Love, Peace & Hip Hop Festival in Columbia, SC. He continued doing shows throughout Carolina until August, 2015 he won a contest to go on a 3-Day-Mini-Tour in the DMV area. In September, upon his departure he released his mixtape Good Vibes and named the tour The Good Vibes Tour. His first out of state shows were packed with 100+ people in Clubs such as The El Dorado and Top Ten. On his return, he worked with local TV show Rap-A-Thon on Wach Fox 57 and landed more gigs in local clubs. In February, 2016 he did an 8 Day Tour in Texas called The Take Over Houston Tour (#thetakeoverhoustontour). Teaming up with other local artist, they did shows in local high schools and clubs opening for Trill Sammy. Mark is currently working on his fourth mixtape set for release in Summer 2016.

Lieutenant-Colonel Charles Edward Bignold, J.P., D.L., (1831-1895) was the second son of Sir Samuel Bignold, son of Thomas Bignold, the founder of Norwich Union Fire Insurance Company. Bignold served as Mayor of Norwich between 1894-1895 and a member of parliament for the Conservative Party for Norwich, England.

Bignold was the son of Sir Samuel Bignold and Elizabeth Jex Atkins (1797-1860), only daughter and heir of William Atkins of Walcott Hall and Ridlington Hall, Norfolk. He was one of 6 sons and 7 daughters. Bignold was educated at King Edward VI Grammar School and Cambridge University. Bignold’s eldest son, Charles Arthur Bathurst Bignold served as Assistant Secretary to the Norwich Union Fire Office married Henrietta Charlotte Longe, youngest daughter of Robert Bacon Longe of Spixworth Park, Norfolk on 3 June 1891. Henrietta’s brother was the Rev. John Charles Longe. Bignold’s eldest son and his wife lived at Eaton Hall, Norwich (now Eaton Old Hall).
Career
On 2 June 1875, the then Major Bignold was granted the horary rank Lieutenant-Colonel. In 1876, Bignold resigned his Commission. Bignold was permitted by Queen Victoria to retain the rank Lieutenant-Colonel and to continue to wear the uniform of his regiment on retirement. Bignold served as leader of the Conservative party for Norwich and Mayor of Norwich between 1894-1995. He also served a Norfolk County magistrate.
Death
Bignold died at his residence, Harford Lodge, Norwich on 19 May 1895.
