Basic Information
The Cyprus Safer Internet Helpline is a service provided by the Cyprus Internet Awareness Center project, coordinated by the Cyprus Neuroscience and Technology Institute (CNTI). The Helpline ensures that children and adolescents but also adults have the opportunity of conversing with experts in case they experienced something negative on the Internet. Educated psychologists provide support and essential advice so that the crisis is overcome and the situation is confronted with. Members of the public can reach the helpline at the number 7000 0 116, while the communication is completely confidential and anonymous.
The need for an operation of a Helpline has been stressed by the European Commission, which supports the idea that the increasing rhythm of use of the Internet is disproportionate as far as the correct use and the moral education of using it is concerned. Consequently, a lot of children come into contact with pages containing inappropriate content or individuals who want to exploit them. Such cases usually cause fear and intensity, which needs equitable confrontation.
The Hotline is a member of the INSAFE European network of Awareness Centres that promote the safe and responsible use of the Internet and mobile devices to young people. The mission of the Insafe cooperation network is to empower citizens to use the Internet, the mobile phone, as well as other online technologies, positively, safely and effectively. The network calls for shared responsibility for the protection of the rights and needs of citizens, in particular children and youngsters, by government, educators, parents, media, industry and all other relevant actors.
History
The service was first established in 2009, through the Cyprus Internet Awareness Center, and is co-funded by the Safer Internet Plus Program of the European Commission, under Grant Number SIP-2008-CNH-143-802.
The Safer Internet Plus Program of the European Commission (EC) has been instrumental in developing the Helpline network in Europe.
Visibility
The Helpine has run visibility events to promote Internet safety issues and has participated and contributed to various forums with the view to developing safer internet initiatives. It has also provided support and speakers for events run by educational organisations, industry associations and child welfare organisations. Interviews regarding the working of the Helpline are regularly given on TV, radio and the written press. It is vital that all relevant agencies work together to promote Internet safety and provide a safer Internet environment for all. The Cyprus Internet Helpline is also an active participant in the organisation of various events and activities to raise awareness in the context of the annual celebration of the International Safer Internet Day.

Jim Couper (born December, 1944) is founder of Pedal, Canada's national cycling magazine.
He has written two travel books and was the first to drive the same vehicle to the ends of the world's most extreme roads.
In 1978 Couper, along with wife Lian and son Dylan, became the first to reach the ends of the world's most northerly road (Nordkapp, Norway) and most southerly road (Ushuaia, Argentina) in one vehicle, a Ford Econoline van. Their global expedition was sponsored by Ford, Goodyear, Hella, Dometic, KOA and other suppliers. Additional income came from writing columns for magazines and newspapers and from radio broadcasts.
In 1989, after slowly expanding Pedal from Niagara to Ontario, Couper sold the publication to Benjamin Sadavoy who gave it the national coverage it now enjoys.
Couper has written two guide books on British Columbia and co-edited a third.
Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Couper moved to Canada with his parents Florence and Archie, at the age of three, and grew up in Toronto where he graduated from Ryerson University after studying journalism. Following his global expedition, during which he also drove across Iran and Afghanistan to India, he moved to the Niagara area and earned a degree in psychology at
Brock University. With wife, son, and daughter Jillian he moved to Kelowna, British Columbia in 1992 and still resides there. He claims to be addicted to travel, has visited more than 80 countries, writes destination features and humor columns and says that therapy has not helped him overcome his habit.

* Discovering the Okanagan, Whitecap Books, Vancouver, 2004
* The Long and Winding Road: Discovering the Pleasure and Treasures of Highway 97, Heritage House, Victoria, 2006

No Syke is a four-member Pop, Rock band from Los Angeles, California, USA.
No Syke was formed in late year of 2006. But back then No Syke had a diffrent name and other members in the band. They got more serious and involved with their music and working in early 2007.
Members quit the band due to personal reasons, and some new members joined after a little while and so they changed their name to No Syke and the band was born. How they came up with the name was during a fun night together as they were joking and said lines that ended with "no syke" and so they all decided that's the new name for their band.
The band has released two full length CD's "We're On Fire" that came out in April 2009.
And their second CD, the newest "Get Syked Or Left Out" that dropped out in November 2009.
They have also released two EP's, the one from 2007 "Histrionics" and then the second EP from 2008 "Beauty Creates Drama". Their album "We're On Fire" was printed in 30.000 copies in the United States, and they all got sold out very fast. After a while a new line of the same album was copied and would be released again, 20.000 got released in the United States, and the same with them got sold out pretty quickly. Since then no more new lines of copies have been printed for that album, which makes the CD quite difficult to get your hands on.
Their recent release "Get Syked Or Left Out" has been selling very well, It's been estimated that around 25.000 copies got sold during only two months.
No Syke has also worked with singer/guitarist Patrick Stump from the band Fall Out Boy on their CD "We're On Fire". Patrick helped them with producing a few songs on the album, he also made an own version of the No Sykes song "Pace Yourself".
No Syke worked with the music producer Matt Squire on their newest album, and was very pleased about the work. He was their only producer on this album with all the songs.

Kingdom Breweries (Cambodia) Ltd. was established in 2009 to produce and market a range of premium beers in Cambodia. The company was conceived by Patrick Davenport and Douglas Clayton of investment firm Leopard Capital who recruited Peter Brongers to write the business plan and turn it into reality. It became a start-up venture of Leopard Cambodia Fund, Cambodia's first private equity fund, which holds 55% ownership. Kingdom Breweries has converted the former Nestle beverages plant located on Phnom Penh’s north-end riverfront into a showcase microbrewery. Through large open windows one can look inside and see the brewery in action. The building was originally designed by Mr. Uk Sameth of the School of Vann Molyvann in the late sixties, in the "New Khmer Architecture" style, functional but with clear Khmer elements. Visitors are invited to tour Kingdom’s state-of-the-art European production facility to learn how beer is brewed and bottled, before sampling Kingdom’s products in the upstairs TapRoom overlooking a panoramic river view.
Founding CEO Peter Brongers assembled a team of renowned beer experts to produce an exceptional product. Chairman and Senior Advisor Jim Napier is a retired Carlsberg executive with 52 years of brewery management experience, including overseeing the creation and launch of Beer Chang, which became the top-selling beer in Thailand. Kingdom’s German brewmaster, Peter Haupenthal, has built a global reputation for creating award-winning beers in five continents.
With a strong, crisp and slightly bitter aftertaste, Kingdom Pilsener is certainly in a different league from the regular lager. Perfect on a hot day, half a pint of the brew leaves a sense of having drunk real beer, not average dishwater.
Kingdom Breweries' Clouded Leopard Pilsner will be "behind bars" in September 2010.
Cambodian Beer Market
Listen to Guy Delauney's report on BBC World Service: Kingdom leads the story on beer in Cambodia.
Average beer consumption in Cambodia currently stands at a lowly seven litres per person per year. The beer market here is growing very fast.
