The First Tambaram City Municipal Corporation Election was held on 19 February 2022 to elect 70 Councillors from 70 wards across five zones in Tambaram, Tamil Nadu, India.
The Secular Progressive Alliance consisting of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and Indian National Congress won 54 seats. All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam became the second largest party by winning 9 seats. Independents won the other 7 seats.
On July 7, 2026, a 43-year-old American woman, Jamey Carney, was found killed in the home she rented and shared with her 13-year-old daughter in Killarney, Ireland. Her 28-year old boyfriend was named as a person of interest; after Carney's death, he fled the country. He was arrested in Jordan the following week, and in August an extradition agreement was reached by Irish and Jordanian authorities.
Action'' (a.k.a.Action Theater'') was a planned 1945 NBC radio anthology series of action-adventure tales. However, the series went no further than the first audition drama, although an announcement on the show reveals an adaptation of Joseph Conrad's "Victory" (with Nancy Kelly and Roger Pryor) was scheduled, along with stories by Ernest Hemingway and Jack London.
Performing before a live studio audience, Jane Wyatt and Robert Lowery starred in the pilot program, "High [...]", with a supporting cast of Ralph Sanford and Tom Holland. It was adapted by writer-director Maxwell Shane (1905-1983) from Paramount's High [...] (1943), a film scripted by Shane and Howard J. Green from a story by Joseph Hoffman.
Produced by Irvin Atkins for Radio Creators, "High [...]" aired January 15, 1945, with music by Gregory Stone. It was introduced by host William Gargan and announcer Art Baker with a commentary by Shane in the middle of the show. Best known in the 1940s for his Big Town screenplays and radio scripts, Shane later scripted City Across the River, the 1949 film of Irving Shulman's The Amboy Dukes, and he was a writer-producer for TV's Thriller (1960–62).
The 2026 Florida's 20th congressional district special election may be held sometime in 2026 to fill the vacant seat in Florida's 20th congressional district left by Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, who resigned minutes before the House Ethics Committee was to advance a motion to expel her for financial irregularities involving her campaign financing. An investigation conducted by the House Ethics Committee found Cherfilus-McCormick guilty of 25 out of 27 charges. The winner will serve in the United States House of Representatives for the remainder of the 119th United States Congress.
