Sindhu Godse was married to Gopal Godse, who was sentenced to life imprisonment in the Gandhi Assassination case.
While her husband Gopal Godse remained in prison from 1948 to about 1966, Sindhutai Godse raised her two daughters by running a business in Pune. During Sino-Indian War in 1962, she wrote to the Government of India, stating that she was willing to supply material from her factory to the Government, without making any profit on it, as her contribution to the war effort. Later, in 1990s, she was to be feted for her social work by music director Sudhir Phadke. This event attracted protesters and caused much controversy.
Gopal Godse died in 2005, and Sindhutai died in 2007.
