Sorcha Faal is the byline under which reports of conspiracy theories are published at the website whatdoesitmean.com. It has been described in the United States by The Washington Post as an "ultra-fringe conspiracy theory Web site", and according to FactCheck.org, it is "widely known as a fake news source that focuses on conspiracy theories" and contains a disclaimer that "some events depicted in certain articles on this website are fictitious".
In 2010 the People's Daily in China named a Faal report about a stargate opening in the Gulf of Aden as one of their top-10 rumor/conspiracy stories for the year 2010. In 2015, The Atlantic magazine described whatdoesitmean.com as a "conspiracy website" which had suggested that the Central Intelligence Agency was responsible for the downing of Metrojet Flight 9268. In 2014, the site reported that a nuclear artillery shell had gone missing from a US military base; in fact a pistol had gone missing and the US Army had not had any nuclear artillery shells for 22 years at that time. In 2016, The Huffington Post noted a report alleging that a meteorite was to blame for EgyptAir Flight 804 crashing into the Mediterranean Sea on 19 May 2016 according to "an intriguing Ministry of Defence report circulating the Kremlin." The Huffington Post described the claim as "bizarre" and Whatdoesitmean as a "somewhat dubious source".
Also in 2016, Media Matters for America reported that Fox News Channel television host Sean Hannity cited a report originating from the whatdoesitmean.com website baselessly claiming that 20,000 of Hillary Clinton's emails might be released by the Kremlin.

Morton J. Marcus (born 1938) is an American economist. He is the former director of the Indiana Business Research Center of Indiana University's Kelley School of Business. He also writes a weekly column called Eye on the Pie, that is printed in more than thirty Midwestern newspapers. Eye on the Pie frequently employs satire or conversations with fictitious characters as devices to make a point.
Although many of his columns are focused on Indiana, the themes are universal: economic development, the role of government, and citizen involvement as consumers and voters. Marcus has published "Tightrope to Tomorrow" which links Social Security's future to education and productivity enhancements. The book contains cartoons and a running romantic side-story to make it more understandable by elected officials.
Marcus' wit has made him a popular speaker on economic issues for civic and business groups in all sections of the U.S.

Joel C. Magnuson is an economist based in Portland, Oregon. He is the author of Mindful Economics: How the US Economy Works, Why it Matters, and How It Could Be Different (2008) and The Approaching Great Transformation: Toward a Livable Post Carbon Economy (2013), both books were published by Seven Stories Press. He is the founder of Mindful economics, an approach to economic theory and practice dedicated to institutional reform based on the core values of environmental sustainability, social justice, and stability. He is a contributing member of the Buddhist Economics Research Platform (BERP).
Mindful economics
The central premise of mindful economics is that the dominant institutions in America have created destructive social and environmental conditions, and changing these conditions requires a deep exploration and development of alternative institutions. Mindful economics is based on empirical evidence of the destructive conditions that can be found in a number of areas such as widespread environmental destruction, resource depletion, and global warming; the vast inequality of wealth and income distribution; and the banking crisis of 2008.
It is also based on empirical evidence of how people have confronted and can confront these problems directly by fostering change through the development of non-capitalist institutions. Examples of such institutions would be locally based community cooperatives, small businesses, and public institutions that are all structured around the same core values.
