Connells Point Public School is an Australian school, which caters for grades K-6 and is situated in New South Wales, Sydney, Connells Point.
History
The history of the school goes back to 1925 when it was realised there was a need for a school at Connells Point. A petition was sent to local residents and the names of intended pupils were gathered. This petition and a formal request was then sent to Mr Gosling M.L.A. through the Connells Point Progress Association. In 1926 two blocks of land were purchased at the cost of £275 each and in 1927 came the official approval for the school. Plans were completed in 1928. However, with the increase in the local population it became obvious that these plans would need to be changed to meet the requirements of the area. The new plans were not completed until 1931, some eight years after the first application had been made.
The original building was brick and consisted of six classrooms with adequate space for 296 pupils with additional space for the principal and a staffroom. The total cost of the building was £4328.17.6 and funds came from the Unemployed Relief Funds.
When the school opened in 1933 there was no school bell and there was none available, so a bell was donated to the school by the local school at Hill End. The bell was erected in the school grounds by 1936 and was used daily until its replacement by an electronic siren in September 2007.
From here on in the school began to grow, more land was acquired, playing fields were developed and cricket pitches built. The school began to prosper and purchases such as books, heaters and wireless were made.
The growth continued, more classrooms were built and gardens were formed. A tuckshop began to operate and a small library was developed. In 1959 it was proposed that an assembly hall be built. This was done and the hall opened in 1961. The parents were able to raise £3000 whilst the government subsidised this with a £12,000 grant. In 1965 approval was given for six new classrooms to be built to form the Infants Department.
Times have changed dramatically since 1925 and the school has also changed in many areas, but the spirit that built the school and met the changing needs has always remained the same. Each step has been implemented by a caring community, and made possible by the strong and determined efforts of the parents and staff at the school throughout the years.
The primary motive of Connells Point School, in every endeavour, has always been for the benefit of the children to ensure that their years at Connells Point Public School are safe and happy, and that the education they receive here will become a strong foundation on which to build their lives.

Julia Olteanu was an 18 year old Swedish girl who was brutally attacked and beaten to death on December 2 1998. The case remains unsolved.
Case
Julia Olteanu offered to buy milk for her parents in the local store in Höganäs. On her way home she was brutally attacked and beaten to death about 50 meters from her house. She died several days later in hospital. The case was given much media attention but when police didn't find any suspects or leads it was soon forgotten. The case gained media attention again in 2005 when the TV4 show Cold Case Sverige aired the details of the murder. The cold case group soon arrested two men for the murder, but they were released after a not guilty verdict at trial.
The police and the cold case group in Skåne believe that Julia was killed because she saw two people stealing a bike that was reported stolen the day after the murder not far from where Julia was beaten. The police also have a theory that her murder can be linked to a number of murders on young people in the Höganäs area, especially the murder of a 13 year old girl. The cold case group and the Police continue to work on the case in hope of finding the killer.

Wangleball is a game of skill, pace and endurance utilising a soccer ball and an australian rules football. It was created by Wayne Jones and Stephen Pang, and given it's name as a result of amalgamating the names "Wayne" and "Pang".
The Game & Rules
*The only way of scoring in wangleball is to hit one ball with the other.
*A competitor cannot touch any of the balls with their hands, and generally contact with the ball is made with the foot, though it is possible to make a scoring shot with the head or the chest.
*Games are generally played in a first-to-three format.
*Games can take up to 45 minutes, depending on the skill and fitness levels of the competitors.
*There is no set pitch or boundary, competitors are free to go anywhere.
*If both competitors are deemed to have hit a ball before the two collide, there is no score and the game resumes as normal and it is called "play-on"
*The most common form of wangleball is a one-versus-one (1v1) matches, though there has been instances of two-versus-two (2v2) matches.
*If a competitor "fouls" by touching a ball with their hand or forearm, then much like soccer a free kick is awarded.
*Free kicks are taken as such:
**The offender places the soccer ball down anywhere on the pitch.
**They then take ten steps from the base of the soccer ball and place the football.
**The free kick recipient must try and kick the football from a standing start to hit the soccer ball.
**"Play on" is called as soon as the free kick is taken.
Tactics & Strategy
Although the concept is simple, wangleball is open to many tactical situations.
Generally the competitor in possession of the soccer ball is more attack minded, while the other competitor is defending, trying to prevent the attacker from getting a free or easy shot at the football. A bolder competitor may opt however to try and score with the football.
