Rutherford Close is a residential street in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom. It was built in 1994 by the construction company Alfred McAlpine on a site previously occupied by the accommodation quarters for employees of the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, (a nuclear physics laboratory sited near Abingdon, Oxfordshire). The name "Rutherford Close" was taken from the name of the laboratory as a bid to preserve the memory of the relationship that existed between the location of the street and the laboratory.
